The Institute for Labor and Social Law is one of Austria's leading teaching and research institutions dealing with key issues in Austrian and European labor and social law. Your personal sphere of influence: As a university assistant prae doc, you will join the research team led by Univ.-Prof. MMag. Dr. Michaela Windisch-Graetz in the field of labor and social law. In addition to your independent research, you will take on tasks such as independently and supportively holding courses and exams, supervising students, and assisting with research, organizational, and administrative activities. Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which means: You will work on your dissertation and its completion; the conclusion of a dissertation agreement is expected within 12-18 months. You will independently hold courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement. You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching. You will participate in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures. You will be responsible for continuing and supporting international collaborations. This is part of your personality: Completed master's/diploma degree in law Excellent knowledge of labor and social law (demonstrated, for example, by a relevant seminar paper or diploma/master's thesis) or related areas of law (in particular civil, European, and constitutional law) Particular interest in European labor and social law or the interfaces with other areas of law Initial experience in academic writing and research methods Institutional experience or experience as a student assistant in a law firm Experience in e-learning IT skills: MS Office Excellent German and English skills You are a team player with social and communication skills. Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter and Deaf Services Advisor and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant users and their families. You will have a unique opportunity to further your career by using your clinical skills within a University setting allowing you to access up-to-date research in this field.  We have 2 part-time (21 hours) permanent vacant posts.  As a BSL Interpreter, you will play a vital role in supporting Deaf patients and their families throughout their cochlear implant journey—from assessment and surgery to rehabilitation and follow-up care. You’ll work closely with audiologists, rehabilitationist, ENT consultants, and other professionals to ensure clear, culturally sensitive communication at every stage. Responsibilities Reporting to the President, the Vice-President for Teaching and Learning (VPTL) will provide strategic leadership in advancing future-ready teaching and learning initiatives at the University.  The VPTL will oversee the development and implementation of the UG common core curriculum, fundamental courses, and Redbird MPhil Program, ensuring quality in teaching and learning activities while enhancing students' educational experiences. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the VPTL will collaborate with the President, other Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Registrar, and relevant units to establish and implement protocols and policies that ensure the effective delivery of teaching and learning. In alignment with the "Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses" framework, the VPTL will coordinate teaching and learning activities and academic support with the Clearwater Bay campus.  The VPTL is responsible for the following areas, including but not limited to: Lead the development and execution of the University’s strategies for teaching and learning, fostering a culture of excellence. Provide leadership and management to the College of Education Sciences (CES), College of Future Technology (CFT) and Institute of Education Innovation and Practice (IEIP) in shaping innovative learning and teaching approaches, including strategically leading the Red Bird MPhil Program, promoting and implementing our signature inquiry-based cross-disciplinary active learning model; as well as overseeing curriculum development and quality enhancement, and ensuring relevance to global perspectives and industry needs. Develop and implement strategies to recruit, develop, and retain high-quality faculty members for CES and CFT. Promote the implementation of blended, digital and AI-enhanced education offerings to provide students with flexible and individualized learning options. Cultivate an environment that promotes innovation and excellence in teaching and learning and best practice sharing. Develop a clear framework for managing educational performance to ensure our standards meet those expected of a world-class university.  Lead the formulation of policies concerning teaching and learning.  Facilitate the implementation and optimization of a professional development plan for members engaged in university-wide teaching and related training activities. Integrate and allocate teaching resources by assessing and identifying the resources needed to uphold our mission of teaching and learning. Foster integrity, quality, creativity, communication, and innovation across all teaching and learning related responsibilities. Develop annual budgets and manage financial resources in the supervised areas.
