Assistant Professor (Ref: 2600228) Department of Cultural and Creative Arts Faculty of Humanities As a distinguished arts education provider in the region, the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts is dedicated to fostering a creative and dynamic learning environment in Music, the Visual Arts, and other art-related disciplines, while simultaneously promoting high standards of professionalism in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. The Department is now accepting applications for the post of Assistant Professor in the areas of music technology/engineering, music industry, popular music/jazz, electroacoustic music, and music education. Candidates should possess a relevant doctoral degree. They should be active researchers with a strong track record in research and teaching, be able to continue conducting research that attracts competitive external funding and leads to publications in top-tier international journals and conferences. They should be fluent in English, and the ability to speak Putonghua is a plus. The appointee will participate in activities related to teaching, research, knowledge transfer and community service. The appointee will be responsible for applying for research and project funding, generating high-quality research and/or creative output, and contributing to curriculum/programme development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels while partaking in departmental activities and management. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant leadership impact within their academic unit and in the research and teaching area of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The role holder will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, to play a lead role in collaborative research projects and conduct ongoing original research and publications in the areas of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This post also be linked to research activities linked to the University’s research platforms such as the UNNC Sir Peter Mansfield MRI Centre. Candidates must have a PhD degree in the related field, sufficient research experience with evidence of publication record, and the evidence of demonstrated success in delivering teaching within an agreed quality framework. Excellent English oral, written, and listening skills, ability to manage resources and an understanding of management processes and ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, internally and externally are also essential. Salary will be within the range of 635,038 RMB to 780,622 RMB (Associate Professor) or RMB 450,190 to RMB 592,815 (Assistant Professor) per annum, depending on skills and experience depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling and insurance will be provided for international appointment. About You The ideal candidate will have a degree level qualification in IT/Software Engineering, or similar, and have significant experience in developing the Tribal SITS:Vision student records system. Overall experience in software development lifecycle management and complex relational database design, preferably within the HE sector. You will possess an excellent mix of communication, interpersonal and tactical thinking skills combined with detailed knowledge of Tribal SITS:Vision, SQL, CSS, JS and HTML v5.
