The Department seeks a candidate whose scholarship and teaching will strengthen its research, graduate teaching, and programme development in an area of strategic growth. We are particularly interested in applicants whose expertise lies at the intersection of instructional design, adult learning, professional education, and the pedagogically sound use of artificial intelligence to support learning design, facilitation, feedback, and learner support. Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas will have an added advantage: Instructional design for higher education, workplace learning, and continuing education Adult learning and professional education Online, blended, and technology-mediated learning design AI-enabled instructional design, including generative AI and intelligent tools for learning design, facilitation, feedback, and learner support Human-centred design of AI-supported learning environments Evaluation of learning interventions in organisational, professional, and higher education settings Ethical, responsible, and pedagogically sound integration of AI in instructional design and professional learning Micro-credentials, workplace assessment, and learning innovation in professional contexts Implementation research, design-based implementation research, or improvement science Requirements For appointment at Assistant Professor rank: A PhD or equivalent qualification in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, Adult Learning, Professional Education, or a closely related field.
