International University of Grand-Bassam was founded in 2007 and is located in the coastal city of Grand-Bassam. The university had just 870 students in 2023; despite this small number, its student body is incredibly diverse, with 46% of attendees being women, and a total of 23 nationalities being represented. There are six career-based degree programmes offered through the university’s two schools: the School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) and the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The university also has a University Preparatory Programme offering courses in English, maths and computer science which prepares students for university-level learning. Undergraduate courses on offer include: mathematics, computer information systems, business administration, data science, english and computer science, amongst others. There are regular events such as the end of year gala dinner and sports tournaments. There are also over a dozen students clubs active on campus,

Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have an MSc or an MA in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict).
