The University of Southampton has been awarded funding to develop and host a Public Health National Specialist Centre (PHNSC). The PHNSC provides research advice nationally for Public Health research projects seeking funding within specific areas and including development of award applications, advice on setting up studies, collaboration opportunities and support for PPIE and a Public Health Enabling Research Service (PHERcS), producing guidance, toolkits, governance and ethics and Public Health research delivery in non-NHS settings to equip organisations to host/sponsor their own research and understand the responsibilities and risks. Regionally, the service is available for researchers for training, events and support to increase capability in Public Health research and for local authority partners creating learning partnerships to understand and respond to Public Health research needs and increase Public Health research capacity. About the Role The Research Ethics & Publication Support Manager will support our ongoing work in supporting the ethics, governance outputs of the research process. The role holder will work with the Research Ethics & Governance Support Senior Manager to manage the operation of the Public Health Research Ethics Committee (PHREC) and to manage a publication resource hosted on the University of Southampton website. This role will work within the PHERcS team to help support researchers in non-NHS settings to be research active. You will have knowledge and experience of research within the public health sector, and to be able to work collaboratively to project delivery dates. You will also be an excellent communicator and able to build relationships both internally and externally. This post is offered on a fixed term basis in the School of Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation. As a school we operate hybrid working with an expected minimum of 20% in office. University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant, Timetabling & Operations in Academic Services Office Your Responsibility The Assistant, Timetabling & Operations will support the Timetabling & Operations team in the Academic Services Office mainly for timetabling and exams support, teaching & learning development and curriculum management. Your key responsibilities include: Timetabling Tasks: Schedule teaching timetables and manage the entire process from timetable data collection to timetable publication. Maintain student enrolment and teaching timetable records across all timetable-related systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Participate in the testing of the Tri-campus Timetabling system. Handle general student timetable enquiries efficiently and provide timely and effective resolutions. Coordinate Government Awards Applications: Work as contact point for Local Government Teaching & Learning Awards applications, liaising with Municipal/Provincial/National Department to facilitate communication, and providing support to develop TL related reports and data analysis to inform decisions. Curriculum Management Tasks: Support to the curriculum (programmes/modules) management tasks including documentation preparation, annual curriculum update, and data maintenance in the Campus Solutions system. Examination Tasks: Support the scheduling of University examination timetables and invigilation arrangements. Respond to and resolve examination-related emergencies during exam periods. Provide administrative and operational support for other national examinations, and handle general student enquiries. Other: Work with other function units within the Office at key points of the academic year (e.g. Graduation, Registration, conference) to ensure a 'fit for purpose' administrative support service to all areas of the Office's work and responsibilities; Participate in training and staff development, as trainer or trainee as appropriate. Maintain a proactive and flexible approach. Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required. The Department of Biology (www.biol.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the above-mentioned tenured professorship at the Institute of Biochemistry (IBC; www.bc.biol.ethz.ch). The successful candidate is expected to lead an independent, world-class research programme in the area of cellular organization and dynamics, working at the interface of cell biology, biochemistry and biophysics to tackle cutting edge problems in their field. Example research areas include the spatial, temporal and biophysical organization of cells, gene expression, genome organization, genome plasticity and stability, regulation of cell growth and division, organelle function, membrane biology, membrane-less compartments, intracellular trafficking and transport, and mechanisms of quality control and cellular homeostasis. The new professor will investigate biological systems at the cell, tissue and/or (model) organism level, possibly driving the development of new technologies to probe cellular parameters. Integration of concepts from different fields to develop unified models of cellular function that go beyond correlative observations is desired. The professorship will be embedded in the Department of Biology, which provides complementing expertise in structural biology, functional genomics, systems and computational biology, tissue development and homeostasis, molecular oncology and more. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
