The position contributes to both teaching and research in English and requires relevant research experience as well as a record of publications. The role includes coordinating and teaching subjects through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and workshops across online, blended, and face-to-face modes, as well as providing timely and constructive feedback to students. It also involves contributing to curriculum design and review, supporting supervision of higher degree research students, evaluating teaching using evidence-based approaches, contributing to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching, and undertaking relevant administrative duties as required.   Skills and Experience A PhD submitted for examination, or very close to submission for examination in the relevant discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence. Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing. Description Political scientists at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) are looking to hire a full-time junior or assistant research Scientist – equivalent to a research assistant/associate at other institutions – to start in September 2026. The position entails data management, replication, and visualization as well as literature reviews and light text editing. There might be an opportunity for co-authorships for a qualified candidate. A successful candidate must have advanced data analysis skills in R and Stata, experience with data visualization in R, and GIS data work in R and/or ArcGIS. The candidate must be self-motivated, an independent thinker, fluent in English, and have well-developed writing skills. The position is open to applicants with a master’s degree in any social science discipline, quantitative data analysis, or statistics, and with less than 5 years of research experience in the relevant field, and/or PhD degree with any level of experience. Candidates with qualifications in or familiarity with political science are preferred. This is a full-time position based at NYU’s campus in Abu Dhabi.
