Ilam University of Medical Sciences was founded in 1995. It is a public university officially recognised by the Ministry of Health and the Medical Education of Iran. The university has a medical centre that offers research, education and healthcare to the local community and surrounding areas. The university is located in Ilam, a city in western Iran. There are a range of bachelor, masters and doctoral level degree programmes available for students to study at the university. These programmes include health sciences, occupational health, dentistry, midwifery, and microbiology. There are 11 hospitals affiliated with the university, as well as 63 healthcare centres. Students are given the opportunity to gain practical experience by training at these centres, while also providing healthcare to the local community. The Journal of Basic Research in Medical Sciences is the university’s medical and research journal. It is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal that publishes research, articles, reports, reviews and letters covering all fields of medical sciences.

The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, at the University of Helsinki invites applications for  PhD student position in space plasma physics The start time of the position is in autumn 2026, or otherwise as agreed, for a fixed-term ending latest in August 2030 – a Finnish PhD thesis project typically takes around four years. Position description This PhD project will perform a coordinated analysis of multipoint in situ measurements and numerical simulations performed with the ion-kinetic Vlasiator code to quantify how interplanetary shocks modify solar wind current sheets across a range of scales. The research will be conducted within University of Helsinki Space Physics Group (https://blogs.helsinki.fi/spacephysics/) and will involve collaboration with leading ex-perts in the field from Europe and the United States. Selection criteria We are seeking a talented and motivated doctoral researcher (PhD student), who recently completed their MSc degree in the field of physics, space sciences, or a related field. The successful candidate will have a strong academic track record and either a solid theoretical foundation or experience with computational methods. Experience in data analysis and algorithm development using Python or equivalent programming languages is considered an asset. Given the highly international and collaborative nature of the research environment, strong presentation and communication skills are appreciated. Also, professional proficiency in either Finnish or English is required. The appointee should either already have the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki by the start of the appointment or apply for the right and obtain it within the probationary period of six months of their appointment. About the Institute and the Master Programme The HKU Institute for Climate and Carbon Neutrality (ICCN) is a premier transdisciplinary research, educational, and stakeholder-engagement hub dedicated to inspiring solutions for climate change and leading the global transition to net zero. The Institute offers the Master of Climate Governance and Risk Management (MCGRM), a unique interdisciplinary taught postgraduate programme hosted by the Faculty of Social Sciences in partnership with the Faculties of Science, Engineering, Architecture, Law, and Business and Economics. The programme bridges scientific rigor with strategic corporate action, equipping aspiring leaders with high-level expertise in corporate sustainability, ESG compliance, climate finance, and nature-based solutions. A core pillar of the curriculum is Climate Practice—connecting academic theory with hands-on experiential learning, corporate decarbonization projects, and field-based risk assessment. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will play a pivotal role in driving the practice-oriented and applied educational components of the MCGRM programme. Key responsibilities include: Practice-oriented Teaching: Delivering dynamic, high-quality lectures, practitioner workshops, and intensive career-oriented training modules across core areas such as corporate climate governance, ESG accounting, carbon footprint management, or green innovation. Capstone & Fieldwork Supervision: Overseeing student Capstone Projects and guiding teams through hands-on corporate advisory reports, real-world decarbonization strategies, and global fieldwork investigations. Practitioner Mentorship: Bridging the gap between classroom theory and industry execution by providing dedicated academic advising and career mentorship to emerging climate professionals. Industry & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with corporate partners, public policymakers, and environmental NGOs to expand internship networks, facilitate practical case studies, and support ICCN public events such as Hong Kong Climate Week. Curriculum & Administration: Assisting teaching faculty with ongoing syllabus reviews, course administration, pedagogical design, and student admission evaluations. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants should possess the following attributes: Academic Background: Background in Climate Science, Environmental Economics, Corporate Governance, Sustainability / ESG Management, Environmental Law, or a closely related discipline. Professional Practice Experience: Demonstrated industry, clinical, or practitioner experience in ESG consulting, corporate sustainability leadership, climate risk analysis, green finance, or carbon asset management. Pedagogical Excellence: Proven experience and excellence in teaching, professional training, or executive facilitation, with a strong commitment to interactive, action-oriented pedagogy. Communication & Language Skills: Native or near-native English proficiency with exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua) is highly desirable to support regional Greater Bay Area industry collaborations. We are looking for a CWI or CWDI Qualified Climbing Duty Officer to join the team covering all our opening hours, including weekday evenings and weekends. If you have an upbeat, energetic personality, you will find yourself in good company at Surrey Summit. As a Climbing Duty Officer, you will run sessions across all ages and ability levels, including our NICAS and Squad programmes and GCSE PE sessions for school groups. You will also be booking customers onto these sessions, all as part of a dedicated team of Instructors, receptionists and other Duty Officers. You will have regular opportunities for route setting on our roped and boulder walls. You will be a point of escalation for day-to-day problems the freelance team members might face, reporting back to the Climbing Duty Supervisor should anything require further escalation. Furthermore, you will oversee a specific area of responsibility tailored to your skillset to grow and develop under the guidance of the Climbing Duty Supervisor.
