Ilam University of Medical Sciences was founded in 1995. It is a public university officially recognised by the Ministry of Health and the Medical Education of Iran. The university has a medical centre that offers research, education and healthcare to the local community and surrounding areas. The university is located in Ilam, a city in western Iran. There are a range of bachelor, masters and doctoral level degree programmes available for students to study at the university. These programmes include health sciences, occupational health, dentistry, midwifery, and microbiology. There are 11 hospitals affiliated with the university, as well as 63 healthcare centres. Students are given the opportunity to gain practical experience by training at these centres, while also providing healthcare to the local community. The Journal of Basic Research in Medical Sciences is the university’s medical and research journal. It is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal that publishes research, articles, reports, reviews and letters covering all fields of medical sciences.

We are now looking for a Lecturer or Teaching Fellow in Construction Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships. This is a specialist teaching-focused post, primarily centred on leading and delivering our apprenticeship work-based curriculum across Levels 4, 5 and 6 for both Quantity Surveying (QS) and Construction Management (CM) pathways. You will be the Module Leader for our work-based modules, these modules run alongside apprentices’ academic modules and are explicitly designed to help apprentices apply learning in the workplace, evidence Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs), and progress confidently towards gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA) / Apprenticeship Assessment (AA) readiness. The modules will support apprentices across the following standards delivered within our provision: Level 4: Construction Quantity Surveying Technician; Construction Site Supervisor Level 6: Chartered Surveyor (Quantity Surveying pathway); Construction Quantity Surveyor; Construction Site Manager Alongside your module leadership responsibilities, you will also hold a defined tripartite caseload as an Academic Liaison Tutor, supporting apprentices and employers through on-programme progress reviews (apprentice–employer–university) to monitor progress, agree actions, and ensure workplace activity aligns with module and programme requirements. Do you enjoy shaping a coherent work-based learner journey, can lead modules with confidence, and is energised by working with apprentices and employers to turn workplace practice into strong academic and professional evidence? If you believe you can help apprentices succeed in EPA/AA preparation while maintaining excellent employer relationships, we would love to hear from you. The School of Medical Sciences (SoMS) brings together seven multidisciplinary research themes that reflect the strength, diversity, and depth of its expertise. These themes address priorities for Australian and international communities and align with partnerships across research institutes, Local Health Districts, funding bodies, government, and philanthropy. SoMS research has a strong local and global impact, supported by over $60M in annual funding. SoMS contributes teaching to a range of programs, including Science, Medical Science, and professional degrees such as the Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Dentistry. This position sits within the Neuroscience research theme, which focuses on understanding the structure and function of the nervous system and the mechanisms underlying neurological disorders. Our research integrates cellular and molecular biology, genomics, neuroimaging, and anatomical, physiological, and pharmacological approaches in human and animal models. Our goal is to translate basic and clinical neuroscience discoveries into new therapies and clinical applications that improve health and well-being. Key focus areas include neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, and neuropsychiatric disorders, movement disorders, neuroinflammatory conditions, headache, pain, and spinal cord injury. Neuroscience theme members deliver research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating both research and educational expertise to help develop the next generation of research leaders in medical sciences, as well as training leaders in healthcare, dentistry and medicine. We are seeking a Lecturer to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning practice, design, and evaluation, while continuing to build their research contribution either independently, or in collaboration with one of our many neuroscience research teams. They will grow their expertise, and impact within the discipline. The role will contribute significantly to the strategic research and educational goals of the school and faculty.
