The Fellowship provides an opportunity to engage with a diverse community of faculty, students, and global health partners around the world. The Fellow will participate in the development of desk reviews of existing biosecurity legislations in Gabon and will have the opportunity to network with stakeholders in the field within those countries.Responsibilities:The successful candidate will work with Dr. Standley and her team to: Develop a desk review of the existing biosafety and biosecurity legislations in Gabon. Provide evidence-based analysis of policies, regulations, and legislative efforts currently underway to improve the biosecurity legislations. Examine the desk review and conduct a gap analysis and examine ways in which to improve the process by which biosafety and biosecurity measures are incorporated into regulatory practices at governmental and private facilities. Design legislative and policy tools to advance the existing legislations in Gabon in order to facilitate their adoption nationwide. The ideal candidate will have a juris doctor (JD) degree and a strong interest in biosecurity legislation, regulations, and policies. The position will be for one year with the opportunity of renewal.
