GMR Institute of Technology is a centre of higher education located in Rajam, Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh State of India. It was established in 1997 by the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation. GMRIT is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. GMRIT offers a four-year bachelors in technology programme across eight disciplines, and seven M.Tech programmes in seven specialised areas of engineering. The university has a range of facilities such as gymnasiums, halls, spacious classrooms and recreational centres. In addition to this, the university conducts regular yoga and meditation sessions for the students. In recent years, it has forged research partnerships with different institutions in India and across the world. The university has also established a Research Advisory Board and Research & Development Cell, which provides necessary support and resources to students perusing research endeavors.

The Department at the University of Vienna is the largest academic center covering all fields relating to the German language and German-language literatures. The core areas are Modern German Literature, Medieval German Language and Literature, Germanic Linguistic, German as a Foreign and Second Language, and German Teaching Methodology. Your personal sphere of play: This position is based in the German as a Second Language Research Group at the Institute of German Studies. The Institute of German Studies at the University of Vienna is Austria’s largest research and educational center for all aspects of the German language and German-language literature. In the German as a Second Language working group (headed by Prof. Dr. İnci Dirim), you can expect a small, dedicated team, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to contribute and implement your own ideas. The position involves contributing to the disciplinary development of German as a Second Language in both research and teaching. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The Research Fellow / Engineer (Building-Grid Interaction Design) will contribute to a two-year applied research project funded by the BCA, focusing on the development of a power grid interactive building or cluster of buildings. The role involves designing and implementing monitoring, visualization and control system to coordinate multiple energy sources including battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV, and diesel generators, and dynamically interacting with building management system to shed signficant loads under varying operating conditions. The research staff will develop, simulate, and test controller logic using MATLAB/Simulink or similar environments, analyse performance across diverse scenarios, and document results for technical reporting. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in modern facilities management, mechanical and electrical engineering and energy efficiency management.  Key Responsibilities Participate in the research project to design a microgrid controller for grid interactive building applications. Develop control algorithms for dynamic master selection, coordinating BESS, PV, diesel generators, and other sources. Implement predictive, rule-based, or optimisation-based control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or embedded software tools. Integrate controller logic with the microgrid model and validate performance under different simulated conditions. Conduct testing of control strategies under various operating conditions such as extreme weather, load variation, equipment failure and deployment constraints. Prepare documentation, flowcharts, control logic diagrams, and controller specifications for the final report. Assist with procurement of software licences and technical equipment. Conduct Risk Assessments and ensure compliance with WSH regulations. Support supervision of capstone project students involved in the project. Work independently and collaboratively to maintain research software and project tools. To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognised university. Strong programming skills in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, or similar environments. Understanding of control systems, power electronics, or energy management strategies. Experience in microgrid controller design is advantageous. Familiarity with BESS control strategies, SOC management, or optimisation algorithms preferred. Support supervision of capstone project students involved in the project. Ability to implement and test algorithmic logic using simulation tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Possessing a Master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years of clinical nursing experience in healthcare settings. Extensive experience and knowledge of nursing skills and industry practices to bring industry perspectives to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Experience in research projects and publications will be an added advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Experience in simulation education will be an added advantage. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possessing industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage (e.g., simulation training) Possession of a good network of relationships with industry partners in hospitals, community, and ILTC sectors will be an added advantage.
