Founded in 1949, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) is one the largest and oldest universities across the East of Iran, and is one of the nation's most prominent research academic facilities.

The university has a variety of core faculties including: theology, science, dentistry, optometry, and education.

It is consistently ranked among the top universities in Iran according to statistics published by the Ministry of Sciences.

FUM publishes wide-ranging 48 peer-reviewed scientific journals covering a variety of fields within sciences and humanities. Some notable names include: Journal of Cell and Molecular Research (JCMR), Iranian Journal of Health and Physical Activity, Iranian Journal of Animal BioSystematics, and Iranian Journal of Electrical Systems

The university attracts international students from Central Asia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Thailand, India, and China.

The Sun & Air Research Institute (SARI), which was founded in 2010, focuses on research in the field of renewable energy. It has achieved many milestones such as designing and manufacturing a 100kW wind turbine.

The university holds yearly festivals where students can present their talents and capabilities on campus. For example, the Traditional Foods Festival focuses on cooking foods related to a specific culture. The festivals they hold are one of the most attractive student gathering events at FUM.

FUM also has a few mosques. One of the university’s most prominent is the mosque of Imam Reza which was built a few years ago.

Notable alumni include Abdul-Hadi Hairi, a globally renowned historian of the Iranian Constitutional Revolution of 1906, Mohammad-Hoseyn Papoli-Yazdi, one of the leading experts on Iranian rural geography, and Dr. Seyed Ali Mirlohi Falavarjani, a retired Professor and founder of Islamic Azad University of Falavarjan in 1984.

Description The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated research or postdoctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of material, control systems, and algorithms for next-generation soft haptic actuators and experiences. Focus areas for Aerospace MRO include: Smart Maintenance & Predictive Diagnostics Digital Twins & Lifecycle Engineering Robotics & Autonomous Inspection Systems Composite Structures Inspection & Repair Advanced Repair Technologies (e.g. Additive Manufacturing) Responsibilities: Design, develop, and teach laboratory sessions and practice-based modules in Aerospace MRO and related areas.
