NUBS China is an international academic gateway for research on business, finance and economics in China and a centre of expertise on Chinese firms going global. Your key responsibilities include: To take the lead on, plan, develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research objectives, projects and proposals either as an individual or as part of a broader programme. To act as the principal investigator on major research projects within the relevant field; investigate and devise new research methods, generate new research approaches and contribute generally to the development of thought and practice in relevant field. To establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through leading peer-reviewed national publications (on a sustained basis), conferences and other appropriate media. Actively pursue recognition through appropriate talent schemes and programs, both nationally and internationally, to elevate personal and institutional academic standing. To deliver teaching across a range of modules or within a subject area, providing curriculum leadership within own area of expertise. Be responsible for the design of course modules and/or programmes of study in specialist area and for their quality. Where appropriate identify the need for developing the content or structure of existing modules and make proposals on how this should be achieved. To supervise and examine Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD students. About You NUBS China seeks to appoint proactive, mature academics who are self-driven and results-oriented, resilient and creative, with internationally recognised intellectual contributions in the relevant subject area. Candidates should have: A PhD degree in following areas Business Analytics Operations Management Information Systems Marketing Other emerging or interdisciplinary fields relevant to Business Analytics; Proven ability to plan and lead the delivery of research and teaching programmes; A track record of publishing in top-tier international journals appropriate to the level of the appointment; and Ability and passion to work in the multicultural environment of UNNC and to explore research opportunities in China. We also look for academic leaders who have strong evidence of attracting research funding and/or leading research projects; proven ability to mentor junior researchers, strong research networking to attract people and research funding. Editorial experience at leading international journals is advantageous. Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict). Excellent communication skills in English. About LANDMark (Land Assets, National Development and Markets) This project, developed by Etienne Wasmer, professor of Economics and program head in Economics at NYUAD, and funded for the next 6 years (2027-2032), brings together a group of researchers working on land all over the world. A team of 4 postdocs will constitute the project's core. Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged. The post-doctoral associate will be hosted in the Social Science Division, near the economics faculty, and can be affiliated with CITIES (infra).
