Join the InsideOut Institute, Australia's national institute for research, clinical excellence, and policy innovation in eating disorders, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the capability of mental health services to identify and respond to eating disorders across the country. As an Upskilling Project Officer, you will provide operational project management support to deliver a national program focused on embedding eating disorder training, identification, and early intervention within Australia's mental health service system. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will coordinate project activities, maintain project documentation and reporting, support stakeholder engagement, and help ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised project professional who enjoys working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will engage with key partners across the mental health sector, including headspace National, Medicare Mental Health services, and Primary Health Networks, contributing to initiatives that support improved access to care and better outcomes for individuals experiencing eating disorders. Your key responsibilities will be to: Coordinate project activities, work plans, and timelines to support the successful delivery of upskilling initiatives and ensure project objectives are achieved. Monitor project progress, deliverables, and milestones, identifying risks or issues and implementing appropriate actions to maintain project momentum. Prepare, maintain, and coordinate project documentation, resources, data, and reporting to support effective project governance and decision-making. Facilitate project logistics, including scheduling meetings, training activities, workshops, and events, while coordinating stakeholders and venue arrangements. Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration, communication, and successful project outcomes. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project methodologies, training platforms, and operational processes. Experience working with health services and/or supporting the implementation of new programs within healthcare or related environments will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience coordinating projects and engaging effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, monitor progress, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. High level of attention to detail, numeracy skills, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite to support project administration, reporting, and data management. Join a globally recognised marine research group focused on climate impacts in temperate reef ecosystems. Work hands-on in field-based research including diving and boating in Australia’s Great Southern Reef. Full-time (1 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 3 years. About the area The School of Biological Sciences is a leading, multidisciplinary school with over 80 academic staff delivering world-class teaching and research across ecology, conservation, evolutionary biology, marine science, neuroscience and science communication. The School supports approximately 600 coursework students and supervises over 100 PhD candidates. This role is based within the Wernberg Lab at the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre—a highly collaborative and internationally recognised research group specialising in temperate marine ecosystems and kelp forest ecology. The team leads innovative, multidisciplinary research spanning climate change impacts, marine heatwaves, biodiversity conservation and blue carbon, using approaches from field ecology to genomics and modelling. About you A PhD in marine ecology or a closely related discipline.
