The Department expects to appoint one senior and one early-career professor but is open to other combinations of appointments. About the Department. The Department of Politics and Public Administration has played a leading role the University and its global disciplines since its establishment in 1970. In addition to a competitive PhD research degree programme, the Department offers three highly successful taught postgraduate programmes – Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master in International and Public Affairs (MIPA), and Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) – as well as thriving undergraduate programmes. The Department’s faculty members are research active, diverse, international and highly collegial. Many have received training and work experience in the most prestigious departments and universities in North America, Europe and across Asia. For more information about the Department, visit https://ppa.hku.hk/. The Position. Appointees will contribute to the Department’s thriving graduate and undergraduate teaching programmes. They should have a PhD degree in a related field and will have significant achievements in relation to research, teaching and institutional service commensurate with the level of appointment they seek. Research achievements are expected to include peer-reviewed articles in esteemed journals and competitive research grants. Teaching achievements are expected to include the development of new courses and programmes and practice in innovative pedagogical methods. Applications are particularly encouraged from candidates with a strong international research and teaching profile. The Department will consider candidates with any geographical specialisation and field of Public Administration. What We Offer. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. New faculty members are entitled to generous research support to continue their work in a new environment and develop grant proposals for local and international sources of funding, and, in the case of pre-tenure colleagues, mentorship from senior members at the Department. About the role King’s College London’s Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre is seeking a Simulation Education Specialist to support the delivery of high-quality, clinically relevant simulation-based education across the Health Faculties. This professional services role acts as a key link between the centre and academic colleagues, helping to translate curricular and clinical requirements into practical, well-designed learning activities that meet recognised standards of simulation practice. You will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and delivering simulation sessions that are educationally sound, operationally feasible, and provide meaningful learning outcomes for students and staff. The post holder will develop, maintain, and manage centre-specific educational resources, documents, and repositories, including exploring opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and resource tracking. By capturing the educational demand from faculties, you will help inform service planning, centre resource development, and potential research initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of simulation-based education across King’s Health Faculties. You will provide guidance on best practice in simulation pedagogy, support faculty colleagues in session design, and ensure all activities comply with quality assurance processes and clinical standards. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering or supporting simulation-based or interactive learning in healthcare or higher education and a strong understanding of clinical practice. You will demonstrate excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills, and be able to make decisions independently while balancing operational constraints and educational objectives. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, as you will work with academic staff, clinical educators, technical teams, and students to ensure smooth delivery and meaningful outcomes. The African Genome Center (AGC) invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Environmental OMICS. This position focuses on the application of high-throughput OMICS approaches (genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) as well as metabarcoding to investigate biological systems within environmental contexts. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing our understanding of microbial, plant, and ecosystem-level processes that drive environmental function, resilience, and sustainability. Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in analyzing OMICS data generated from environmental samples, enabling insights into biodiversity, community structure, functional potential, and ecosystem processes. Experience in integrating multi-omics datasets and linking molecular data with environmental, ecological, or biogeochemical variables is highly desirable. The successful candidate is expected to have an excellent publication record in environmental OMICS or closely related fields.
