Basic information and contact details for Centrale Nantes

institution

Centrale Nantes, also known as École Centrale de Nantes, is a French leading engineering school - a Grande École. Centrale Nantes offers its 2,400 students, with international students making up around 45 per cent of the student body, programmes from bachelor to PhD and is currently involved in five Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees, three of which are coordinated by the school.

As a member of the Ecoles Centrale Group, the school prides its generalist approach to teaching, where all students are exposed to different areas of engineering. Thanks to a strong partnership with Audencia Business School and l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nantes, it brings together engineering, business studies, architecture and design. Our common business incubator has more than 20 years experience supporting startup projects. In January 2022, Centrale Nantes became a component institution of the newly-created Nantes Université opening up new opportunities for its students. Centrale Nantes is also a member of the TIME (Top Industrial Managers for Europe) network, which enables student exchanges among the leading engineering institutions in Europe.

Research at Centrale Nantes is carried out in five laboratories and centred around 11 main areas, including ocean engineering, computer science and automation, robotics and energy and engineering for health. Research platforms include ocean test facilities, a supercomputer and a rapid manufacturing platform.
