Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after Mykhailo Tugan-Baranovsky (DonNUET) was established in Ukraine in 1920 to offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses to students. Upon the university’s 50th anniversary, they were awarded the Diploma of Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. In 2007, it was given its national status by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The university is situated in the industrial city of Donetsk, which was formerly known as Yuzovka after the Welsh Businessman, John Hughes, founded steel and coal businesses in the area, and arguably founded the Donetsk area itself. The city of Donetsk also has several cultural and historical offerings, from the opera and ballet theatre to Donbass Palace. The university was founded by Mikhail Ivanovich Tugan-Baranovsky, known for his contributions to science and economics, as well has his role during the period of national liberalisation. The university has three institutes: economics and management; accounting and finance, and food production. There are also three faculties: marketing and trade; restaurant and hotel business, and work with foreign students. In addition to these academic departments, Donetsk National University has technical schools in mining, design and finance, to offer students a more practical learning approach. Postgraduate courses are offered in 13 disciplines, including food technology, economic theory and physical chemistry. Doctorate courses are also offered, over five disciplines: economic theory; business management; money, finance and credit; processes and equipment of food; and economics and national economy management. The university has several international partnerships in countries such as Bulgaria, Belarus and Turkey. Students can also choose to attend summer school classes in Northern Cyprus at the Eastern Mediterranean University International Summer School. Many students contribute to the university’s international image by participating in sporting competitions across the world.

Develop collaborative links with the core scientific staff in related program areas to gain exposure and build knowledge on experimental/research activities and approaches, in order to improve conceptual development and implementation. Identify areas of improvement within the research structure using integrated management approaches in pursuit of capacity building/strengthening and the preservation of scientific rigor in research studies. Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding. Develop undergraduate courses, Master courses and modules. Support the appropriate equipment purchasing and ability to deal with international suppliers. Assist to the supervision of Ph.D. students and guide their research work. Candidate Profile: Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile: PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Processes or another suitable engineering discipline. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Advanced Magnetic and Electromagnetic Separation and Speciation of Metallic Minerals Benguerir-Jorf Lasfar The CBS department of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in magnetic/electromagnetic separation in solid and liquid matrices. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of the principles of magnetic separation and magnetic phenomena, as well as expertise in experimental methods to study the interactions between magnetic fields and solid and liquid materials. Additionally, knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of materials, particularly their magnetism, is required. The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where they will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives. The focus will be on developing and executing studies on magnetic/electromagnetic techniques for the separation, concentration, recovery, or destruction of certain elements. Therefore, the chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to the performance of a wide range of scale-up studies of a magnetic and electromagnetic separation process to validate the selection of the appropriate design for treating, concentrating, and purifying the matrices under investigation. Job Description: The position is open to candidates with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Applicants must demonstrate that their doctoral work and previous experience are related to one or more aspects of magnetic separation, particularly in the context of mineral processing or environmental applications. Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply: Experience in the separation/purification of industrial effluents, particularly with electromagnetic/magnetic technologies. Proven experience in extracting valuable substances through magnetic separation methods. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Fluency in English is a requirement. Candidate Criteria: A PhD, or equivalent, in applied chemistry, physics, materials science, or a relevant discipline with a focus on magnetic separation of metal(loid)s. Strong familiarity with the magnetic properties of metal(loid)s and minerals, demonstrating the capability to separate them from complex matrices. Expertise in metal(loid)s speciation and their physicochemical properties. Good Background in magnetic and electromagnetic separation techniques and the scale-up process. Prior experience in selectively separating metal(loid)s from low-grade ores or by-products. Planned Activities: Conduct scientific research within the project team. Train and supervise second- and third-year doctoral students to prepare them for their defense. Execute magnetic/electromagnetic separation experiments with precision and accuracy,  Utilize advanced methodologies and techniques to effectively separate target components from complex matrices using magnetic field. Monitor ongoing experiments and adjust settings as needed. Maintain high standards and quality in laboratory operations. Job Requirements: Comprehensive understanding of the principles of magnetic separation. Profound knowledge of magnetic phenomena and properties of magnetic materials. Previous experience in designing and conducting laboratory experiments to investigate the interactions between magnetic, electromagnetic fields and solid, liquid materials is essential. Competence in materials characterization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and analyze simulation and/or experiment results. Familiarity with safety protocols and quality control measures in the laboratory. Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a research team. The lab also provides bioinformatics consulting and data management services to UM6P researchers and their collaborators. UM6P has state of the art NGS sequencers and mass spectrometry and the largest HPC (High Performance Computing) cluster in Africa. The laboratory aims to leverage these resources to address bioinformatics needs internally and at the African level and to develop innovative research and training programs. This project aims to adapt and extend transformer-based architectures to create a powerful tool for understanding and predicting bacterial genomic sequences. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and optimizing these models, applying them to diverse bacterial use cases, and contributing to the development of software tools for the broader research community. Responsibilities: Develop and implement transformer-based genomic language models for bacterial genome analysis. Train and evaluate models on large-scale bacterial genomic datasets. Apply the developed models to address specific research questions, such as gene function prediction, antibiotic resistance analysis, and evolutionary studies. Analyze and interpret results, and prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with other researchers within the lab and external collaborators.
