Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is a public research university located in Çanakkale province, Turkey, near the historic site of Gallipoli.

Founded in 1992, the university grew out of teacher training facilities that had previously been part of Thrace University. It now serves a student body of approximately 48,800, including more than 2,000 international students from 68 countries. The university employs around 1,920 academic staff, with the total personnel exceeding 3,000.

The university is organised into multiple faculties, offering a wide range of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes. Key faculties include arts and sciences, education, engineering, fine arts, marine sciences and technologies, medicine, theology, communication, political sciences, architecture and design, and agriculture. The university also maintains several institutes for social sciences, science, medical sciences, and education, as well as vocational schools and specialised applied sciences schools in various towns of the province.

Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University operates across several campuses, including Terzioğlu Main Campus, Anafartalar Campus, Dardanos Campus, Kepez Medical Campus, and Ulupınar Campus, among others. 

The main library, located at Terzioğlu Campus, holds over 690,000 books and offers extensive electronic resources.

The university is a member of the Balkan Universities Network, the European University Association, the International Association of Universities, and the Thrace Universities Union. 

Student life is active, with over 220 clubs and organisations, multiple sports facilities, a university beach, and a student-run radio station.

The university offers instruction in both Turkish and English.

About us Our contemporary Chemistry Department, based in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences, provides an exciting place to explore the boundaries of the subject. The Department champions the discipline of Chemistry across King’s, leading with its own research and teaching, and encourages close interdisciplinary collaborations. Our PGT and UG programmes have been designed to impart a rigorous theoretical and experimental understanding of chemistry, delivered within the context of biomedical applications. About the role The postdoctoral position will be an integrative part of an exciting ERC project dedicated to biosynthesize and electrochemically characterise a series of metalloenzymes as the central target of the last WP3 of the ERC project. The postdoc will have to also work on electrode chemical modifications and be able to work on computational modelling of the electrode/protein bioiterface. We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral candidates willing to fully commit to an exciting, cutting-edge project. The skills we are looking for are, but not limited to:  Preparation of enzymes using recombinant methods; synthesis, purification and modification. Experience in bioelectrochemistry and biosensing approaches using voltammetry, chronoamperometry and impedance spectroscopy. Biophysical characterization of enzyme proteins, use of CD, IR, NMR, etc Experience in computational modelling of biointerfaces using advanced molecular dynamic approaches This is a full time (35 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 28/02/2026.
