Bursa Technical University was established in 2010, becoming Turkey’s fifth technical university. There are two campuses; the Yildrim campus located in Yildrim, in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Mimar Sinan Campus. There are also plans for a new campus in Kestel. The four main faculties at the university include: engineering and natural sciences, forestry, humanities and social sciences and architecture and design. Across these faculties, there’s a range of undergraduate bachelor’s programmes available from mathematics to international relations. The university’s graduate schools of natural and applied sciences, and social sciences offer postgraduate master’s and PhD programmes in courses including urban forestry and biotechnology. Students at Bursa Technical University can enjoy a range of facilities, including a sports hall and outdoor football field. They can also participate in a range of student clubs and societies including volleyball, archery, wrestling and chess. There’s also exhibitions, theatre performances, trips and conferences throughout the year. This position presents an opportunity for a research-active scholar with demonstrated teaching leadership to contribute to the growth of one of Australia's leading aerospace programs. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and strong industry engagement across the Department's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Computer Networks and Security. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in this field or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes. Teaching Responsibilities In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the Computer Science (MCS) program and undergraduate courses in the Computer Science (CSE) program. The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes). Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on two to four modules from the following areas: Computer Network - 1 Computer Network - 2 Realtime Systems IoT and Smart Devices IT Security Compulsory elective modules The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may require conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects. The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor's and master's theses and mentoring Ph.D. students. Research Responsibilities As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of defensive architectures, cryptography & authentication, network resilience and emerging topics of computer networks (e.g., edge & fog computing, software-defined networking, AI-native networking). The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable. Administrative responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Computer Science Program by participating in administrative, marketing and other public activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university, namely Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies. Qualification Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. Those in the final stages of their doctoral studies may also be considered, provided they demonstrate exceptional promise. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology. Other requirements include: An outstanding academic record with a focus on networked systems security, communication networks and protocols, ad-hoc networks, or other areas closely related to it Proven expertise in zero trust architecture, security protocols, defensive operations, wireless security, and network architecture Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research Experience in industry is of advantage Proven excellent English proficiency: Candidates who are from non-native English-speaking countries should include one of the following valid English proficiency certificates; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 548(PBT), TOEFL 84 (iBT), TOEFL 212 (CBT), CEFR level B2 or Aptis level C1 at the time of application submission. Role and goals The aim of the role is to teach life-wide / continuous learners and undergraduate students. In practice this means that selected current and future courses in the curriculum will be opened up to a wider audience, for example, in the form of online courses. The duties involve, to: Coordinate, develop and deliver engaging courses in life-wide learning with our academic staff, focusing on the integration of sustainability, circularity and cutting-edge materials science. Employ digital platforms to enhance teaching methods and course accessibility. Participate actively in course development, ensuring offerings are up to date with industry practices and advancements. Collaborate with fellow faculty to enrich the educational impact on our students and learners. The candidate will be expected to develop teaching on sustainability and related topics, both independently and in collaboration with Aalto professors, lecturers and researchers in the field. Salary
