Gazipur Agricultural University

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in Salna, Gazipur sits on over 190 acres of land, including 50 acres of experimental farm. The rural setting, between Joydebpur Chowrasta and the National Park of Rajendrapur is a good setting for a university focused on all things agriculture.
First opening its doors to students in 1998, the government-financed university has five faculties with 36 departments. The faculties are the faculty of graduate studies, agriculture, fisheries, veterinary medicine and animal science and agricultural economics and rural development.
As well as its extensive farmland, the university has four student halls. Students can benefit from a regular bus service running between campus and Dhaka twice a day.

About the Role

The Coordinator, Engagement Operations provides financial, administrative and operational support to the DSC Engagement team, ensuring the effective delivery of exhibitions, public programs, events and engagement activities. Reporting to the Head of RMIT Galleries, the role coordinates financial processing, maintains operational records and reporting, supports compliance and WHS activities, and assists with team administration across Galleries, Partnerships and Public Programs. The position also supports the planning and delivery of exhibitions, graduate shows, public programs and major events, coordinating logistics such as catering, security and venue operations. Occasional out-of-hours work is required to support exhibition openings and key events.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:


	Demonstrated experience in financial and administrative support functions, including procurement, invoice processing, monitoring expenditure and maintaining accurate financial and operational records, with strong attention to detail and adherence to policy.
	Experience supervising or coordinating staff, ideally in a front of house, visitor services or events context, including the development and management of rosters and the ability to provide clear direction, support and feedback to ensure consistent service standards.
	Demonstrated understanding of work health and safety and risk management requirements in an events, gallery or related environment, including experience contributing to or coordinating risk assessments and maintaining WHS documentation.
	Willingness and ability to work outside normal hours on occasion (e.g. exhibition openings, public programs, graduate exhibitions and other events).

This position is situated within the Centre for Immersification, dedicated to applied research in immersive technologies and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university.

The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of an advanced content moderation framework for immersive 3D virtual environments, such as Roblox and Minecraft. The research staff will play a key role in building and integrating of AI agents into gaming scenarios (e.g., gameplay, interactions, procedural content generation, dynamic narratives), and integrating a multimodal detection pipeline, ensuring real-time performance, scalability, and deployment readiness in alignment with the project’s research objectives.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including renowned researchers at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities


	Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
	Collaborate with the PI, Co-PIs and NTU team to design and develop a robust and scalable software system for autonomous agents navigating immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft).
	Design and develop robust and scalable game agents to navigate and interact with immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft).
	Integrate AI agents into gaming scenarios (e.g., gameplay, interactions, procedural content generation, dynamic narratives)
	Leverage fine-tuned Vision-Language Models (VLMs) for game scenario detection, supporting zero-shot reasoning and scene-graph inference.
	Ensure the system is deployment-ready by supporting benchmarking of inference speed, compute efficiency, and scalability with concurrent agents.
	Maintain high software engineering standards through rigorous testing, version control, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of development infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, cloud-based services).
	Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
	Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
	Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

The School of Social Sciences offers a rich learning and research environment spanning social and environmental studies.  As well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, the School supports an active research program. The eBRAIN Lab (https://ebrain4everyone.com) in the Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist position with a a Bachelor's or Master’s degree with less than 5 years of experience to work in the area of research and development (R&D) of next-generation Edge-AI and Embodied-AI Systems with tiny-LLMs, tiny-VLMs, tiny-VLAs; Agentic-AI systems; and Robust Generative AI targeting hallucination, safety and security issues. Besides robustness, systems should also be optimized for high performance and energy-efficiency to realized efficient Embodied/Edge-AI implementations. A key focus will be on investigating novel methods and their full-system deployment in real-world applications from different fields (like autonomous systems, healthcare, and robotics) with cross-validation.

Prof. Shafique’s lab has many-years of R&D experience in cross-layer design and optimization for building energy-efficient and robust brain-inspired, autonomous, and cognitive systems and intelligent vision systems, including efficient learning and inference of complex AI/ML algorithms, specialized neural processing hardware and design tools, and ML security, and their applications in resource-constrained Embodied-AI systems (like autonomous vehicles, UAVs/UGVs, Robotics, smart houses/cities, Wearables, and Healthcare). The long-term vision of the eBRAIN lab is on embedding an energy-efficient and secure electronic brain inside modern cyber-physical systems (CPS) and IoT-Edge devices to enable assistive cognitive technologies that care for / serve humanity and the ecosystem in a safe and green way.

The successful applicants will join and drive a number of fascinating projects on designing, implementing, optimizing, prototyping and testing innovative solutions (software, hardware, or both) for the next-generation embodied-AI, GenAI and Agentic-AI systems, targeting high performance & energy-efficiency, robustness, and trustworthiness. A key focus will be on full-system prototyping, IP generation, patenting, and participating in high-quality publications with other lead researchers of the lab. A special focus will be on highly efficient implementations and prototyping for real-world use-cases, and building TRL-4/5 prototypes and actively optimizing the engineered solutions. The candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, research engineers, graduate research students and undergraduate students, to investigate cutting-edge scientific methods and to develop full-system prototypes. The eBRAIN lab offers an excellent working environment with an international team of excellent researchers and engineers, high-tech equipment, and active R&D engagement, thereby providing many development possibilities. The candidates are expected to work in a highly collaborative environment with other lab members and industry collaborators.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive and sound knowledge of Robotics, ML, AI, DNN, LLMs/VLMs, Multimodal LLMs, RAG, Agentic frameworks, tinyML, ML frameworks (like PyTorch and Tensorflow), and Prototyping ML systems is required. The candidate should demonstrate a solid experience in practical AI/ML system development, hands-on engineering works on these intelligent systems, and system-level optimizations. Additional knowledge on MLOps, robust/secure computing, Hallucinations and Alignment, privacy-preserving ML, and ML security is highly desirable. Applicants with strong industrial experience, engineering experience, and/or with publications in top ML venues (conferences and journals) are highly preferred.
