Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC) has links back to 1920, when it functioned as a construction faculty. Over the years, AUAC has had many name changes but in 1992 it received university status, and in 2000 it was renamed to what it is today.
Located in Baku, Azerbaijan, AUAC specialises in civil engineering and architecture.
The university has 42 departments, including: architecture, construction and economics, civil engineering and transport. AUAC offers both bachelor and master degrees, as well as doctoral.
Working with institutions, both local and worldwide, students receive opportunities to expand their skill set and graduate ready for the professional job market.
The campus has modern equipment, teaching and research laboratories and a library. There’s a separate nine-storey dormitory building for students too.
There’s plenty of activities for students to get involved with. Clubs on offer include those with an interest in dance, singing, chess and debate. Students can get involved with wrestling, judo, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, football and athletics. AUAC holds bi-annual sports championships every year.
Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction has partnerships with various universities from different countries, including Anglia Ruskin University, in the United Kingdom, and the University of Montpellier in France. Teaching is conducted in three languages: Azerbaijani, Russian and English.

Job Description Postdoctoral Researcher in Mineral Processing, Battery Materials, and Sustainable Process Engineering. The researcher will join a multidisciplinary research program aimed at optimizing natural graphite for Li-ion battery applications, developing sustainable purification technologies, and advancing circular water management in mineral processing. The work spans mineral processing, electrochemistry, hydrometallurgy, and environmental engineering. The successful candidate will carry out duties to the highest standard and will: Help at designing and setting up experimental work at lab and pilot scale. Perform materials characterization (XRD, Raman, SEM-EDS, TGA, PSD, BET, ICP). Apply Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical optimization tools to improve processes within the main project and across other ongoing research lines. Fabricate and test graphite anodes via electrochemical techniques (CV, EIS, galvanostatic cycling). Postdoctoral Researcher in Theoretical Evolutionary Biology Modelling the Evolution of Sex-Specific Differences in Life History and Immunity Supervisor: Dr. Piret Avila Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki The Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Academy Research Fellow Dr. Piret Avila are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher to develop theoretical work on the evolution of sex-specific differences in immunity and life history traits. We are accepting applications immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The ideal starting date is February/March 2026, but it can be later. The position involves developing mathematical models to understand how natural selection shapes sex-specific immune strategies. The goal is to generate quantitative predictions testable against empirical data from diverse ecological contexts. We use methods from theoretical evolutionary biology, including optimal control theory, life history modelling, adaptive dynamics, and population genetics. More information: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/slcps About the role We are looking for a skilled biomedical scientist with a strong interest in the human microbiome, clinical test development and have proven relevant microbiology/sequencing and bioinformatics skills. An interest is reproduction and pregnancy is desirable. The post holder will be responsible for optimising protocols for rapid testing of the reproductive tract microbiome and developing a bioinformatics workflow for data generated using an Oxford Nanopore Technology platform. The post holder will be supported by an experienced bioinformatician members of the Clinical Diagnostics Development Team based at Guy’s Campus. They will work with existing human samples and alongside members of Professor Tribe’s and Dr Rocio Martinez Nunez’s labs, The Hub for Applied Bioinformatics (Dr Alessandra Vigilante) and the clinical preterm birth team based at St Thomas’ Hospital. The postholder will need to be methodological, organised and efficient with proven experience of working within a relevant lab setting and generation of results at a conference or via a peer reviewed publication. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple teams seamlessly. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31 May 2027. The postholder will be expected to be on site as this is a lab-based role.
