Position Summary: The University of Liverpool, India, Bengaluru seeks a qualified Lecturer in Game Design with sufficiently wide expertise to cover technical aspects (programming, game engines) as well as the visual, spatial, and sonic aspects of the discipline (Game Art, UX/UI, composition of music for games, sound recording). The role is full-time and includes teaching, administration and scholarship. Assistant Professor in Game Design The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching across undergraduate and future postgraduate Game Design programmes at the University of Liverpool’s India Campus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and with industry, contributing to the University's research vision. Key responsibilities and duties: Teaching and Administrative To contribute to the design, development, delivery, assessment, and administration of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered. To participate actively in the development and delivery of the School’s strategic and operational objectives. To undertake academic and administrative duties as assigned by your academic line manager. To contribute to ongoing curriculum enhancement, ensuring alignment with international academic standards, research advancements, and evolving industry needs. To engage with innovative, inclusive, and modern pedagogical approaches, implementing best practices in university teaching and learning. To supervise and support students directly, identifying learning needs, defining learning objectives, and maintaining a high standard of academic guidance and mentorship. To provide academic supervision for undergraduate dissertations. Lecturing, seminar teaching, workshop delivery and assessment relevant to Game Design in technical, artistic and creative contexts Research Develop collaborative research links with our academic staff in our home campus in Liverpool. To prepare and submit manuscripts for publications in leading international conferences and journals. Develop engagement with external partners. Take responsibility for the supervision and training of postgraduate research students Key responsibilities and duties: Lecturing, seminar teaching, workshop delivery and assessment relevant to Game Design in technical, artistic and creative contexts Undertaking relevant scholarship duties in Game Design In future years, supervision of independent and collaborative projects in Game Design Providing guidance to individual students as an Academic Advisor Working collegially across the team to provide an excellent student experience. Skills & Experience: Experience of delivering teaching and assessment as relevant to games and/or other audiovisual media (e.g. film) in a Higher Education context or equivalent  Experience working and/or teaching about games industry  Experience coding in languages relevant to teaching in Game Design and Computer Science  The following experiences will be considered:  Track record of teaching and assessment at postgraduate level Track record of design of modules or programmes at undergraduate level Track record of publications or other forms of scholarship PhD in a subject related to the post Undergraduate degree in Game Design, Game Art, Game Development, Computer  Science, or another subject relevant to the post A Master’s degree in a subject relevant to the post (or relevant equivalent qualifications or professional experience) The possession of a formal teaching qualification (e.g. AFHEA, FHEA, PGCE) or a willingness to complete one as part of the post. Be able to demonstrate the ability to develop high quality research. Versatility to contribute to a wide range of Game Design-related modules across the programme, which should include capability in technical aspects (e.g. programming, game engines) as well as the visual, spatial, and sonic aspects of the discipline (e.g. Game Art, UX/UI, 3D modelling, composition of music for games, sound recording) High level of skill in software found in the undergraduate curriculum (e.g. Unreal, Unity) as well as 3D modelling software (e.g. Blender, Maya) Knowledge of theories and concepts related to games and audiovisual media, particularly with respect to visual and spatial aspect Sufficient level of skill to teach at undergraduate level across Computer Science and Game Design Skills applicable to Virtual Learning Environments (e.g. Canvas or equivalent) to support student learning Proficiency in aspects of audio technology and creative practice, such as Digital Audio Workstations (e.g. Logic Pro, Ableton) Skills in computer-based music composition Knowledge of the gaming industry Personal Attributes Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively to departmental and institutional goals. The Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki is seeking a University Lecturer for a fixed-term position from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2028, who can teach criminal law and procedural law. The responsibilities of the University Lecturer in Law include providing undergraduate education as well as supervising and examining theses in the Bachelor of Laws program and in one or more of the faculty's Master’s programs. The languages of instruction for the position are Finnish and English. The University Lecturer will conduct independent scientific research and manage jointly agreed administrative and other tasks. Teaching responsibilities also include instruction under the Open University brand. The place of employment for University Lecturers is Helsinki, but the position also involves teaching duties at the faculty's education unit in Vaasa. The role is teaching-oriented. Requirements for the Position and Evaluation of Qualifications Candidates must hold a relevant doctoral degree in accordance with the University of Helsinki's regulations and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality research-based teaching and supervise theses. The University Lecturer must have good teaching skills. Pursuant to the Government Decree on Universities (770/2009), appointees to teaching and research positions at the University must be proficient in the language in which they provide instruction, i.e., Finnish or Swedish. Additionally, successful performance of the duties requires a good command of the English language.
