The Department at the University of Vienna is the largest academic center covering all fields relating to the German language and German-language literatures. The core areas are Modern German Literature, Medieval German Language and Literature, Germanic Linguistic, German as a Foreign and Second Language, and German Teaching Methodology. The position is situated in the discipline of didactics emphasising on teaching methods regarding literature and media. This position is limited to a duration of six years.

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You build up an independent research profile in the field of german didactics.

About the Role

Reporting to and working closely with the Director and Associate Director of Strategic Operations, the School Operations Manager supports Heads of School in preparing, implementing, and monitoring strategic and operational plans for the School and Institute.

You will foster effective relationships with academic and professional staff, as well as key personnel in the Faculty Senior Management team, ensuring alignment with Faculty and University objectives.

The role involves representing the Schools in operational matters with internal and external partners and stakeholders. Additionally, the School Operations Manager oversees the efficient delivery of support services and leads professional staff in providing excellent service to all stakeholders. 

This role will support both the School of Physics and the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Your responsibilities will include:


	Collaborate and contribute to the School's strategic planning processes, as required. 
	Work closely with the Head of School in the development and implementation of the School's strategic initiatives.
	Design and implementation of the School's operational planning processes, monitor progress throughout the year, evaluate outcomes and make recommendations for change.
	Assist in the development of an integrated resources plan for the School, encompassing workforce planning, academic services, infrastructure, and responsible financial and asset management.
	Integrate and oversee the School's administrative functions, establish clear directions, common goals and open communication by fostering a work culture that supports the ongoing growth and development of the School and Institute.
	Oversee management and delivery of support services of the School.


Who We Are Looking For

You will bring a strong understanding of the higher education environment and its strategic direction, along with substantial experience in financial and operational management within a university setting.

You will also have:


	A relevant postgraduate qualification and management experience, along with proven management expertise, or an equivalent combination of experience in a university environment.
	High level interpersonal and communication skills, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
	Demonstrated understanding of the higher education environment including its strategic direction.
	Demonstrated ability to develop and align operational plans and establish and implement procedures and initiatives to enable delivery of plans.

Position Summary:
The Education Department at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a focus in early literacy and educational psychology to start in August 2025. Demonstrated success or evidence of potential to excel in teaching and advising undergraduates is essential, as is ongoing scholarly productivity and institutional service. Evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies that foster diversity and inclusion is required. Responsibilities will include teaching literacy and child development courses and supervising student teachers in pre-K - 4th grade placements. Additional responsibilities may include teaching introductory education courses and graduate courses. The new faculty member will advise education students, serve on university committees, and engage in scholarly and professional activities. The course load is 3 courses per semester.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in literacy, curriculum and instruction, or a related field. Also required is a minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre-k - 4th-grade school contexts, with a strong preference for candidates with additional university-level teaching experience. ABD will be considered, but completion of the degree is required by August 2025.

Preferred Qualifications:
Highly desirable are 3 or more years of teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education, as well as experience in higher education.

About the opportunity

The School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. Based at the Westmead Children's Hospital, the Senior Research Support Officer supports the formulation and execution of research initiatives. They direct the integration of advanced data management tools. They contribute to the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of research documentation and contribute to the grant acquisition process. The purpose of the position is to assist big data analysis and design and coordination of the collection, storage, management and distribution of research data for the Brain Autoimmunity Group (BAI).

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	guide research direction and priorities, ensuring projects align with broader university goals
	evaluate and optimize grant management processes, ensuring maximum funding opportunities and successful grant acquisitions
	direct the design and implementation of advanced data management systems, ensuring data-driven insights and research excellence
	navigate external partnerships, fostering collaborations that elevate research stature and impact
	lead research documentation and publication approach, ensuring impactful dissemination of research findings
	undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.


About you


	experience in coordinating and/or managing grant application process
	experience working in a research-intensive environment
	demonstrated understanding of confidentiality of clinical data and the need for accuracy in recording and reporting data
	experience in data management and maintenance
	proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
	experience in the technical design, implementation, maintenance and querying of database management system. ERDs, MySQL, PotsgreSQL
	experience in relational database design and familiarity with clinical and/or biobanking data management system (ie Redcap) for multiple data type
	excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiations skills and demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with operational matters
	understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research.

About the Role

Join our leading research team at the STEM College's Centre for Optoelectronic Materials and Sensors as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. In this role, you will contribute to innovative research initiatives in line with the University's research strategy. You'll have the opportunity to independently drive projects focused on the development of advanced materials and devices with diverse applications.

To be successful in this position, you'll meet the following Key Selection Criteria:


	Ability in the Synthesis of ultra-thin electronic and optically active materials and/or their hybrids using vapour deposition processes.
	Demonstrated ability in micro/nanofabrication of electronic and optical devices of various architectures.
	Electronic and optoelectronic device characterisation. Examples of devices include but not limited to field-effect transistors, photodetectors, or neuromorphic sensors.
	Experience in electron beam lithography (EBL) based fabrication will be highly regarded.
	Proven ability to undertake scientific research and development in research programs.
	Demonstrate ability to clearly communicate research results, concepts and knowledge.
	Demonstrated initiative in research and problem solving.
	Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a research team and independently when required, to meet project outcomes and milestones.
	Experience in co-supervising postgraduate by research students.


Qualifications


	Mandatory: PhD Qualification in the relevant discipline area.
	Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).
