University of Mila is situated in the ancient city of Mila, located in north-west Algeria.
Established in 2008, the university is named after a prominent Mila native known as 'the father of the Algerian intelligence service,' who played a significant role in Algeria's fight for independence. The campus, sprawling across 87 hectares, is located three miles outside Mila on the road to Zghaya, approximately 100 miles from the capital, Algiers.
University of Mila began with three institutes in science and technology, letters and literature, and economic, commercial, and management science. In 2022, it expanded its offerings to include mathematics and computer science, as well as natural and life sciences. New courses such as microbiology and applied mathematics were also introduced in 2022.
The university is dedicated to building partnerships with institutions like Universidade Nova in Lisbon and Varna University of Economics.
