Aarhus University is a well-established institution, with almost 100 years of history behind it. Since 1928, it has cultivated a reputation as a world-leading research institution, which can be seen through its regular appearance in the top 100 of many rankings. Over the years, AU has evolved into a dynamic and international, institution. Recently, Aarhus University ranked 69th in the Shanghai rankings and regarding internationalization AU is ranked in the top as well as no. 45 on Times Higher Education’s ranking as “Most International Universities in the World”.

50+ study programmes in English

12% of students here at Aarhus University are international, coming from over 120 different countries! We also have many international researchers throughout all faculties, and all our PhDs are taught in English. At Bachelor’s or Master’s level and we are proud to offer over 50 English-taught courses. English really is our second language here at AU. Additionally, we have a specialised International Centre, which can provide guidance and support on a range of topics.

Research-based university

Aarhus University is the largest research-based university in Denmark, and a nationwide institution with three campuses located in Aarhus, Emdrup and Herning. Many lecturers here are active researchers, meaning teaching at AU is based on recent research projects. This gives our students access to the most up-to-date findings, and ensures an excellent standard of teaching.

The teaching environment at Aarhus University is relaxed and collaborative. A comprehensive university with five faculties

There are five main faculties at Aarhus University: Arts, Business and Social Sciences, Health, Natural Sciences and Technical Sciences, with more than 38.000 students and 8000 staff.

Students are welcome to use the state of the art research facilities available in each faculty. Each faculty is highly specialised, and focused on contemporary issues. For example, the faculties of Natural and Technical Sciences are currently concentrating on sustainability and facilitating a green transition.

Job Description ACADEMY OF MUSIC  The Academy of Music launched a new multi-year transformational education project to provide access to the larger community in Hong Kong. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged, gifted students, parents' engagement, community music, industry-higher education collaboration, and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech, art-tech, interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural studies, and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students. Post-Doctoral Research Fellow / Research Fellow (25260202) Responsibilities: Contribute to the design of an evidence-based outcome measurement framework for the project; Conduct comprehensive impact measurement research on the project with both qualitative and quantitative methods; Strengthen and refine key outcome indicators on time; Stay informed about relevant social and educational developments, including government policies and similar projects, to assess their impact on the project; Assist in writing detailed reports and produce articles for internationally refereed journals or other respected publications; and Perform any other delegated duties as required.  Requirements: A recognised doctoral degree with substantial experience in educational research, action research, research methodologies, and data collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative research; A strong background in statistics, data analysis, research measurement tools, and educational research methods is desired;  Prior experience in working with children and knowledge in music and sports would be advantageous;  Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;  Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs; and A results-oriented approach to impact measurement while remaining open-minded to different stakeholder perspectives for project review and improvement. The initial appointment will be offered on a contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Your personal sphere of influence: At the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry our highly motivated interdisciplinary team offers a position for a PraeDoc in the area of bioinorganic chemistry and chemical biology in an inspiring scientific environment and a pleasant working atmosphere. A main aim of our work is the development of innovative approaches to elucidate the role of transition metals in cancer growth. Projects will involve the characterization of biological activities of novel anticancer compounds, including metal complexes and/or metal-binding agents, in two- and three-dimensional in-vitro models. Strong expertise and state-of-the-art instrumentation for preclinical development of novel anticancer drugs are provided by this team. The contract duration is 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1,5 years and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months. An extension up to a total of 4 years is then possible provided the excellent performance of the candidate. Your future tasks: You actively participate in research as well as teaching which means: Original research projects in the area of bioinorganic chemistry and chemical biology, focused on the biological effects of novel tumor-inhibiting compounds and therapy resistance mechanisms in human cell models. Characterization of bioactivities by cell and molecular biology-based methods including flow cytometry, (confocal) microscopy, and immunofluorescence will take place in coordination with experts in synthetic chemistry so as to enable the optimal design of potential cancer therapeutics. You will participate in the preparation of internal reports, publications, academic articles, and presentations of scientific results at (inter)national conferences. You will be expected to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. You will be actively involved in research, teaching, and administration. You will teach courses independently to the extent specified in the collective agreement. You will instruct bachelor and master students and carry out administrative tasks in teaching and/or research. This is part of your personality: You have a diploma or masters degree in molecular biology, biological chemistry, biochemistry, chemistry, or equivalent qualification. Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques and characterization of compound bioactivity, ideally including flow cytometry and imaging-based methods. Basic experience in research methods and academic writing. Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in academic teaching (including e-learning) is desirable. Job Description SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS Part-time Lecturer (25260005) The School of Creative Arts (SCA), comprised of three well-established academic units: the Academy of Film, the Academy of Music, and the Academy of Visual Arts. Established on July 1, 2022, SCA is dedicated to nurturing future-ready talents for Hong Kong and beyond, while making a significant impact on society through innovative research and transdisciplinary studies. The School is currently seeking a Part-time Lecturer to teach the course(s) at undergraduate level in the following areas:  Entertainment / Media / Creative industries; and Creative entrepreneurship. The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree or above in related disciplines, with 3 years of experience in entertainment industries with aspects of content development, budgeting, licensing, administration, marketing, or audience engagement, preferably with teaching experience at the university level. A good command of English and Chinese, excellent communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility are required. Duties may also include supervision of students, marking of examination papers, and any other work as assigned by the Programme Director and the Dean of School.
