We broker and facilitate research exchange between University of Sydney researchers and their outside interlocuters via visiting fellowships, exchanges and a range of in-house initiatives designed to build authentic research partnerships that will grow and change to meet the demands of the future. We are seeking a Community Engagement and Programs Officer, specialising in research translation and strategic communication, to join the Centre and collaborate across the Faculty to amplify the Centre’s research impact. In this role, you will shape how the Centre communicates its evidence, insights, and achievements. Working closely with Centre members, University communications teams, and external partners, you will craft clear, compelling, and accessible narratives that promotes the centre’s research and programs. Key responsibilities will be to work with academics, research partners and colleagues across the University to: track and report on the Centre’s work and support continuous improvement in how evidence is communicated and applied support centre researchers in communicating their research via the centre website, social media, white papers and other outputs coordinate activities designed to engage a diverse range of audiences including workshops and events produce targeted materials to engage internal audiences, industry, and general publics. About you We are looking for Community Engagement & Programs Officer (Communication and Research Translation) who has: tertiary qualification in communications, or professional experience in research translation and commercialisation demonstrated experience translating academic research into clear and compelling narratives experience working in a start-up or related environment is highly desirable excellent writing, editorial and communication skills across multiple formats strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with academics, industry partners, government and community organisations demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and fast-moving deadlines, with strong organisational and time management skills experience producing high-quality written and digital content such as reports, briefs, workplace tools, web content or multimedia materials a proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to increase the reach and impact of evidence and insights. The Senior Lecturer (Creative Music Entrepreneurship) plays a key role in advancing teaching, research, and curriculum development in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, and professional practice. The appointee will help prepare students for diverse and evolving artistic careers by integrating artistic excellence with entrepreneurial thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with the wider cultural and creative industries. The appointee will report to the Head of the Academic Studies in Music and work closely with programme leaders and colleagues across the School. Applicants should have: (a)  A recognised degree or equivalent qualification (preferably a doctoral degree) in Music, Arts Management, Cultural Leadership, Creative Industries, or a related discipline; (b)  A strong professional background and substantial experience in creative music entrepreneurship, cultural leadership, creative industries, or related areas of professional practice; (c)  Normally, a minimum of six years’ experience in teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, or contextual studies at tertiary or conservatoire level; (d)  A strong professional network within the creative industries, cultural sector, or artistic entrepreneurship landscape, ideally with international reach; (e)  A proven record of teaching excellence across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes; experience with pre-college music education is an advantage; (f)  Experience in curriculum design, programme development, and the implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches aligned with contemporary developments in the music and creative sectors; (g) Solid experience in collaborative work across disciplines and cultures, with the ability to contribute to School-wide initiatives and cross-departmental projects; (h)  Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate independent studies, portfolio projects, research assignments, and creative or professional-practice outputs; (i)  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills; and (j)  An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) is an advantage. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. A gratuity payment up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. The Finnish Museum of Natural History LUOMUS at the University of Helsinki invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher, IsoMuseomics for a fixed-term period of three years. The work will be based at the Finnish Museum of Natural History LUOMUS at the University of Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland. The postdoctoral researcher will join the IsoMuseomics project, and work under the supervision of Kyung Min Lee, the Head of DNA Laboratory and University Researcher. This position is part of Lee’s four-year Academy Project, funded by the Research Council of Finland. The successful candidate is expected to start ideally by September 2026. About the position The IsoMuseomics project aims to trace genomic changes across a wide time span - up to 200 years - to understand how environmental changes have impacted their genomic diversity. The project focuses on Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) as model system, that are currently threatened or vulnerable, which serve as important ecological indicator. By analysing historical specimens from museum collections (dried and pinned specimens), we can investigate how these changes are encoded in their DNA, across both spatial and temporal scales. The majority of genomic data will be generated from historical museum specimens, which typically yield highly fragmented DNA. The postdoctoral researcher will be primarily responsible for:  Designing and analysing genomic datasets derived from fragmented whole-genome data Conducting genome assemblies and SNP calling Performing phylogenomics and population genomic analyses Contributing to manuscript writing Qualifications  The position requires:  A doctoral degree relevant to the project (e.g., biology, genomics, evolutionary biology) Less than seven years since obtaining the PhD  Ability to conduct independent scholarly work Strong collaboration and communication skills Teaching skills necessary for the position  Excellent written and spoken English skills  Highly valued qualifications: Experience working with highly fragmented genomic data and museomics Strong bioinformatics skills Proficiency in command-line scripting and programming Knowledge of phylogenomics and population genetics Why conduct a postdoctoral project at the University of Helsinki?
