We currently have positions available at all levels from Lecturer to Full Professor in Chemical Engineering or related disciplines. Priority skill areas include: process monitoring and control, industry 4.0, modeling, AI and ML applications for the process industries with particular emphasis on delivering step change improvements in process performance; Informatics for process and product development with a background in big data applications in biotechnology, process development or food technology; Quantitative scientific skills in physical chemistry/biochemistry/formulation to enable deeper process and product understanding in high value chemical, pharmaceutical biotechnology and/or food applications.   The successful candidate would be expected to teach core chemical of pharmaceutical engineering subjects and to develop applied research to support the continuing development of Singapore’s process industries. Requirements: A PhD in Chemical Engineering or related discipline Strong communication skills Aptitude for Applied Research leading to application of new knowledge to solve real-world problems A high level of digital literacy The following are desirable: Manufacturing, design or research experience in the process and related industries Knowledge and experience of Sustainability assessment as applied to the process industries Chartered or Professional Engineer status Successful candidates will join the Food, Chemical and Biotechnology (FCB) Cluster (one of five domain clusters in SIT), as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved with industry transformation through their applied research programmes.   Faculty in the FCB Cluster undertake funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Food Technology as well as supervise graduate industry masters and doctorate students in relevant topics. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project, where you will be part of the research team to develop solutions for adapting CCS2 chargers for marine electrical vessels and optimizing DC fast charging technology for marine applications. As a Research Engineer (Electrical Engineering – Marine EV Charging & DC Fast Charging), you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge research and industry projects. You will: Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), and industrial partner to ensure all project deliverables are met. Develop and implement solutions for adapting CCS2 chargers to marine electric vessel applications. Design experiments for testing and analyze DC fast charging for high power marine EVs and assess communication integrity at various operating conditions. Test interoperability of charger with marine EVs and ensure compliance with EV charging communication protocols (e.g., ISO 15118, DIN 70121). Conduct EMI noise analysis and mitigation for high-power DC charging systems. Develop and troubleshoot embedded hardware and software for charger communication and control. Work on energy storage integration for marine charging infrastructure. Collaborate with industry partners and regulatory bodies on marine charging standards and DC fast charging protocols. Support knowledge transfer, prototype development, and system integration. Carry out Risk Assessment and ensure compliance with Work, Safety, and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaise with vendors/suppliers to support project needs. Work independently, as well as within a team, to drive research and development efforts Job Requirements Degree/Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related fields. Strong knowledge of DC fast charging, energy storage systems, charger communication standards, and power electronics. Experience in charger communication protocols (e.g., CAN, PLC, Modbus, IEC61851). Experience in hybrid or full electrical systems design or analysis and system integration Experience in designing and developing experiments and associated test-set up for testing and troubleshooting electrical systems Proficiency in EMI noise analysis and power quality assessment. Knowledge of marine electrical systems and power electronics systems is an advantage. Hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and software development is an advantage. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the exceptional quality, integrity, and successful delivery of the UK curriculum at CDUTCM-Keele campus, Chengdu, China. The ideal candidate will be an academic leader with deep knowledge of the UK higher education system, a strong background in the health sciences industry, and a proven experience to bridge British academic standards with the needs of a dynamic international setting. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership & Quality Enhancement Serve as the academic authority on the UK curriculum, ensuring all programmes adhere to the standards of the UK partner university and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) framework. Maintain and manage a comprehensive quality assurance system for the full teaching process, including curriculum design review, instructional supervision, and assessment/evaluation standardisation. Proactively identify and address teaching quality issues by implementing advanced UK pedagogical methods and assessment tools. Faculty Development & Operational Oversight Mentor and manage a diverse team of UK and local faculty, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Oversee teaching operations including timetabling, performance review, and faculty development. Selection Criteria - Who We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications & Experience A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Rehabilitation, Public Health, Allied Health, Health Services Management, or a closely related field from a recognised university outside China A minimum of 5 years of International HE teaching and/or administrative experience, including a mid-senior leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in clinical practice, healthcare management, or applied health sciences. Proven track record in academic quality assurance, curriculum design, assessment moderation, and governance. Experience implementing innovative pedagogies and driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Strong operational insight into academic delivery, including scheduling, resource planning, and performance management. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor faculty teams, fostering professional development and collaboration. Experience aligning academic programmes with industry trends to enhance graduate employability. Success in leading programme reviews and curriculum enhancement initiatives. Effective cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in diverse, international teams.
