The University of the Andes, also known as Uniandes, is located in Bogotá, towards the west of Colombia. Founded in 1948 as an independent private higher education institution, it had just seven programmes, with a handful of students and teachers. It has since made its name in South America as one of the country’s leading universities.

Situated in the city centre of Bogotá – the largest city in Colombia – the university is well-connected to transport routes, the country’s financial hubbub and a vibrant local culture: classical landmarks, museums and galleries are dotted around the city and the El Dorado International Airport is a short drive away.

There are nine Schools: Medicine, Science, Engineering, Law, Economics, Social Science, Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, and Architecture and Design. This wide-ranging capacity attracts students from around the world.

It is an innovation- and research-led university with 163 laboratories, and admission is competitive. Its students tend to have a strong academic background before applying. The university aims to produce “highly skilled” and “well-rounded” graduates. Many stay on to pursue further studies. One of the most renowned alumni of the university is former president of Colombia, César Gaviria.

One of the university’s key goals is to become a “benchmark in education” and it says the curriculum flexibility offered allows students to shape their studies in line with what they are interested in. It also promotes diversity and encourages extracurricular participation in a wide range of fields, from sport clubs to societies.

The striking campus has wide green spaces and the university follows a sustainability plan to reduce its impact on the environment.

Applications are now invited for the following posts: Associate Professor/Assistant Professor Division of Artificial Intelligence (Post Ref.: 25/72) The Division is looking for an experienced Associate Professor/Assistant Professor who will (1) conduct high-quality research in the state-of-the-art areas in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, large language models, and computer vision; (2) secure external competitive research grants in various funding bodies; (3) teach multiple subjects in both undergraduate-level and postgraduate-level programs in data science areas focusing on industrial data sciences, blockchain, data sciences, artificial intelligence, etc.; (4) work on the promotions and admissions as well as the operations for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and (5) contribute to other administrative duties as required by the supervisors. General Requirements Candidates should have (i) a doctoral degree in a relevant data science, computer science, artificial intelligence, information engineering, or other relevant areas; (ii) a strong publication record and outstanding citation counts in the research areas; (iii) experience in applying external grants and teaching relevant courses and relevant programme administrative experience will be advantages; (iv) good command of English and Chinese (including Mandarin). The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership & Quality Enhancement Serve as the academic authority on the UK curriculum, ensuring all programmes adhere to the standards of the UK partner university and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) framework. Maintain and manage a comprehensive quality assurance system for the full teaching process, including curriculum design review, instructional supervision, and assessment/evaluation standardisation. Proactively identify and address teaching quality issues by implementing advanced UK pedagogical methods and assessment tools. Faculty Development & Operational Oversight Mentor and manage a diverse team of UK and local faculty, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Selection Criteria - Who We’re Looking For Essential Qualifications & Experience A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Rehabilitation, Public Health, Allied Health, Health Services Management, or a closely related field from a recognised university outside China A minimum of 5 years of International HE teaching and/or administrative experience, including a mid-senior leadership role. Description The Sustainable and Innovative Transport Demand (SIT-D) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a postdoctoral associate to conduct studies on the use of Immersive Virtual Reality to elicit users’ preferences for innovative transport systems. Research in the SIT-D lab focuses on understanding and modelling consumers' behavior and decision process for sustainable transport modes and transport innovations.
