Job Description FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES ACADEMY OF GEOGRAPHY, SOCIOLOGY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Government and International Studies (25260816) The Academy invites applications from high-calibre candidates for the above positions in the discipline of Government and International Studies (GIS), which has particular strengths in the study of politics and international relations in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The appointee is expected to strengthen the Academy’s research profile and contribute to teaching in one or more of the following areas: International Relations European Government and Politics Public Policy (especially technology, or well-being, related) Applicants should hold a relevant doctoral degree and demonstrate an excellent record of research and publication, commensurate with the rank applied for. An ability to contribute to French language teaching or to bring expertise in advanced quantitative and computational methods would be a strong advantage. Candidates for Professor and Associate Professor should also show a clear track record of success in competitive grant applications and evidence of research leadership. The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor position is tenure-track, with an initial fixed-term contract of three years commencing as early as possible or in January / August–September 2027. Tenured appointment is normally expected to be attained within six years. Exceptionally strong candidates may be considered for direct tenure. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Department: School of Business Vacancy ID: 042583 Closing Date: 19-Jul-2026 The International Research on Energy System Integration, Education, and Environment for Sustainability and Innovation (IRESI) Centre invites applications for a research assistant that will work on STREACS a European-funded project focused on enhancing research capacity in Armenia to accelerate its energy transition toward clean and renewable energy sources. The research assistant will play an active role in supporting the successful delivery of the project across its full lifetime. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and the wider project team, the successful candidate will contribute to the coordination of project activities, the preparation of research and dissemination outputs, and the management of day-to-day administrative and reporting tasks. The role requires a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, internationally focused research environment. The candidate will liaise regularly with consortium partners across the EU and Armenia, support the organisation of project events and meetings, and contribute to ensuring that all project milestones, deliverables, and funder obligations are met on time and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for a researcher or research administrator to gain hands-on experience in European-funded research project co-ordination within an interdisciplinary and internationally collaborative team.
