Job Description SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS  ACADEMY OF MUSIC Senior Lecturer / Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Conducting (Multiple Positions) (25260436) The Academy of Music (https://mus.hkbu.edu.hk/web/) has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong, providing a rigorous and comprehensive music curriculum. The Academy is seeking a distinguished music educator and outstanding conductor for the position of Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Conducting.  Responsibilities: Rehearse and lead the instrumental or choral ensembles; Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in conducting and related areas; Develop networks with regional and international partners for research, performance and recruitment activities; and Collaborate across disciplines within the Academy and with colleagues across the University to further develop the Academy’s strengths in interdisciplinary research, teaching and knowledge transfer. Requirements: A doctoral degree in music or equivalent professional conducting experience; and Collegiate-level teaching and relevant professional experience. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement, and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We have an exciting opportunity in our dynamic Estates and Facilities department for a skilled compliance administrator. This role involves providing professional and detailed support to the department as part of a close-knit and collaborative team. The role In this position you will work in a team, which serves as the single point of contact for all Estates services, playing a key role in ensuring the successful operation of Estates within the University. You will be required to communicate effectively with all Estates personnel, staff at all levels from various departments and Faculties across the University, as well as external visitors and contractors. A key part of the role is working with maintenance managers to ensure records up to date and supporting the department administration. About you The ideal candidate would be able to provide accurate, timely and proactive administrative support to ensure that the University’s statutory and regulatory compliance obligations are fully evidenced and audit ready. Working within the Estates Operations team and reporting to the Estates Business Operations Manager, the postholder would maintain comprehensive electronic and paper records covering all major compliance domains – including fire safety, water hygiene (L8), asbestos (CAR 2012), electrical and mechanical testing, LOLER / PUWER inspections, and DSEAR activities. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, data integrity, and the ability to multi-task across multiple compliance streams to tight deadlines The ideal candidate will have substantial administrative experience and will be proficient in using Sharepoint and Microsoft Office programs. While prior HE or Estates, compliance and maintenance experience is advantageous, it is not essential. The ability to prioritise tasks, assess urgency, negotiate, influence, and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders are skills you will develop in this role.
