About the University of Indonesia

Established in 1849, the University of Indonesia is the oldest state-run university in Indonesia with campuses in Depok, West Java and Jakarta. The main campus in Depok now houses the majority of the faculties, including mathematics and natural sciences, humanities, economics and many more. University of Indonesia has graduated many of the Nation’s top academics, technocrats, and intellectuals. Research and works produced by the academic society of University of Indonesia have also provided numerous solutions for Indonesia and the world. 

In 2007, the university underwent substantial reform and the university now boasts one of the largest libraries in Southeast Asia, accommodating over 20,000 visitors per day and holding approximately 1.5 million books. The library, which was designed with sustainability in mind, powers itself with solar energy. 

The university’s main campus in Depok was built during the mid-1980s when the university modernised. Just 25 per cent of the 320 hectares is used for academic, research and student activities, while 75 per cent is used to maintain the surrounding forest. 

The urban forest covers an area of 90 hectaresconsisting of many valuable tree species. There also six large lakes whose acronyms for each name to form the word KAMPUS, namely K(enanga), A(ghatis), M(ahoni), P(uspa), U(lin), S(alam).

In pandemic situation, University of Indonesia had to change from face-to-face teaching to online learning and breakthroughs with the application of the Kampus Merdeka (Independent campus) concept. This is an essential manifestation of student centered learning. Kampus Merdeka provides challenges and opportunities for the development of innovation, creativity, capacity, personality, and student needs. 

During 2022, University of Indonesia synergized very well with various industries through efforts to support breakthrough innovations, inventions, and ideas for the needs of industry and society. In 2022, University of Indonesia successfully obtained 267 patents. 

These achievements are further reinforced by the success of University of Indonesia to rank as one of the best universities in the world according to the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Impact Ranking.

Deliver financial services aligned with strategic priorities, driving continuous improvement in financial processes, and actively contribute to shaping business decisions. They also provide authoritative financial guidance and risk management expertise and actively participate in the development and enhancement of finance-related policies and procedures. The Finance Manager works under broad direction, translating accountabilities into tasks to deliver against goals. They are a subject matter expert, provide sound advice and recommendations, resolve complex matters and escalated issues related to their responsibilities. Reporting to the School Manager and supporting the Head of Clinical School, the Finance Manager leads planning and operational committees, overseeing financial matters for the School of Rural Health's budget with increasing complexity and strategic importance. They manage the School of Rural Health's (Dubbo/Orange) reporting and compliance ensuring accurate information on university systems and adherence to work area requirements. The Finance Manager works in collaboration with other members of the leadership team and provides support to the School of Rural Health (SRH) in relation to their portfolio area. This position will work with other School staff to support and enhance rural research activity, student placements and multidisciplinary learning experiences in rural areas in accordance with the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program parameters, Murray Darling Medical Schools Network (MDMSN) Program funding and Sydney Medical Program (SMP). Description The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Engineer to support the design and implementation of interactive AI and data science platforms across the Center’s research clusters. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers and faculty across domains such as Foundations of Data Science, Enabling Technologies, Health, Education and Personalized Learning, and Bias, Ethics & Privacy, contributing to the development of prototypes, interfaces, and software infrastructure that translate research outputs into usable tools. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain web-based and AI-powered platforms supporting CIDSAI research projects. Collaborate with faculty and postdocs on projects such as: Mathematical Collaboration Platform, Personalized Learning Systems and SmartClass AI Tutors, Health-focused conversational AI and multimodal interfaces, Bias detection and fairness-aware tools for ethical AI.
