We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in General Nursing. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard.  Salary Assistant Professor / Lecturer: €64,753 – €102,539 p.a. (7 points) Assistant Lecturer: €42,099 - €71,998 p.a (14 points) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. You’ll play a key role in the operation, maintenance and development of facilities in the Soft Matter Physics laboratories, collaborating closely with academic and technical colleagues to deliver an exceptional experience for our students. The group’s experimental research spans research at the interface with biology - biological-physics, bio nanotechnology and synthetic biology - experimental soft matter physics with a sustainability focus.  About you  Experience of working in a physics laboratory or relevant similar experience. Ref.: 534167 Work type: Full-time Department: Centre for Civil Society and Governance (30101) Categories: Teaching Staff Lecturer in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 534167), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree preferably in a Social Sciences, Business Management or related disciplines. They should have at least a combination of 5 years of professional, teaching and/or research experience, in Corporate Sustainability, Value Chain Management, Sustainability-related Disclosure or Circular Economy. Preference will be given to those who are accredited professionals with Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting related accreditations. These may include, but not limited to, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Professional Certification, Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate, European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS). Experience in teaching programme development and management will be an advantage. The appointee will contribute to the overall teaching and action research effectiveness in a wide spectrum of sustainability-related activities at the Centre, and be responsible for curriculum planning and development, validation and accreditation of new and/or existing programmes, and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He/She will also support the work of the Academy for Sustainable Communities established under the Centre and perform other teaching and research-related duties as assigned by the Director. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
