Lord Briggs, former vice chancellor of Sussex University and historian of the BBC, is one of 13 media academics and practitioners elected to residential fellowships for the academic year 1995/96 by the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center at Columbia University, New York. It is his second appointment to the year-long fellowship programme.
