Students at Luton University have come up with some enterprising ideas for a new name for their institution following the news that it is merging with De Montfort University's nearby Bedford campus. One suggestion in an online poll is Midway University - highlighting the new institution's location, which is near enough midway between Oxford and Cambridge. Others include The Launch Pad University and Hatters University. Traditionalists, however, are putting their money on plain old Bedfordshire University.
