Brussels, 10 May 2005
The Belgian Wallonie regional authority and the French Region Nord - Pas de Calais, with the support of the Committee of Regions, is organising a European seminar on the role that regional authorities play in developing the use of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) to support democracy.
The conference will take place in Brussels on 19 May and will focus on the increasingly important role ICT plays in the daily life of the citizens, as well as its increasing use by local authorities to enable more transparency, dialogue and consultation in public life.
