Established in 1970, the University of Ulsan has grown to be the epicenter of education, research, and industry-academia cooperation in Asia with a purpose of producing future leaders.

Currently, there are 15,000 students enrolled and 1,770 professors teaching across 6 graduate schools and 9 colleges in the field of engineering, medicine, business administration, natural sciences, design & architecture, humanities, social sciences, human ecology and arts. Our students are striving to continue the spirit of ‘Challenging and Pioneering’ that Chung Ju-Young, the founder of the Hyundai Group and the University of Ulsan, had emphasized.

Through strategic industry-academia cooperation with multi-national corporations such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Motors, SK Energy and S-oil and global exchange programs with 180 academic institutions in 40 different countries, the University is setting the standard in fostering future world-class leaders with global excellence in various disciplines.

At least 3–5 years of postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record (first-author papers in high-impact journals preferred). Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: AI/machine learning for biological modeling (e.g., virtual cell, foundation models, graph neural networks, or multimodal omics integration). Epigenetics (DNA methylation, chromatin analysis, single-cell epigenomics). Stem cell research (iPSC culture, differentiation, organoids, neural models). Experience with CRISPR, organoid technology, or mRNA therapeutics is a plus. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting. Excellent communication skills in English.  What We Offer The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 3-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Technical Manager (Finance) in the Department of Finance The Technical Manager (Finance) will provide support to researchers in assessing the feasibility and logistics of running their papers or in collecting primary as well as secondary data. The Technical Manager will help acquire and maintain servers for digital data infrastructure and also support researchers in accessing and using university resources efficiently, e.g., preparing customised data sets for secondary analysis or help onboarding researchers to high-performance financial computing facilities. The role holder will explore potential for linkages to other research and data hubs on the administrative and programme levels on a regular basis. There will be opportunities for the Technical Manager to engage with exciting topics in contemporary finance, e.g., in asset pricing, banking, corporate finance, quantitative risk management, climate finance, financial technologies, to enhance their ability to work with finance colleagues across a broad spectrum of topics.
