Post duration: 4 years full-time or up to 6 years part-time The Faculty of Medicine wishes to appoint an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, hosted by one of the following clinical specialties: General Surgery, Respiratory or Paediatrics. The post is intended for an applicant within any of these three specialities, with the speciality of the final (single) post dependent on the successful applicant.  The post-holder will be pursuing their development of research and teaching within the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton. In this post-doctoral role, the successful candidate will be in specialist clinical training at ST3 level or above and have substantial experience of the relevant research areas, a proven track record of high-quality original research publications, the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary, multi-professional team and hold a corresponding NTN.  You will join the NIHR Clinical Integrated Academic Training Programme at the University of Southampton, as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. The post-holder will also have clinical commitments at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust that will lead to the acquisition of clinical skills required for full registration within the specialty. The Position The Faculty is seeking an outstanding scholar with proven international leadership in research, teaching, and knowledge exchange in the field of Computational Social Science. Applications are invited for appointment as Professor / Associate Professor within the Faculty of Social Sciences, with a start date of January 1, 2027, or at the earliest convenience. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in social sciences or a related field, with a focus on computational social sciences. The candidate should possess expertise in developing and applying cutting-edge computational and quantitative methods in social sciences, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. The candidate should have a proven ability to work on cross-disciplinary social science topics and a strong interest in exploring AI, society, and social dynamics. Competitive candidates for this position should have a scholarly track record with evidence of high-quality research and publications in leading academic journals. He/She will also be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as contributing to the administration of academic programmes.
