Founded in 1808, the University of Belgrade is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Serbia.

Comprising 31 schools, 11 research institutes, eight centres and a university library of more than 3.5 million volumes, the university offers over 350 study programmes in sciences, mathematics, technology, engineering sciences, medical sciences, social sciences and the humanities.

It has a highly regarded law school, which, along with being one of the largest in the Balkans, has also produced numerous expert scholars in law and government officials.

Home to almost 100,000 students and approximately 4,200 academic and research staff, the university is divided into two main campuses: the King Alexander Boulevard Campus and the Studentski Trg. It offers student accommodation for more than 11,000 students around Belgrade, making it the largest student housing provider in the country.

In recent years the university has expanded its international outreach and currently participates in a number of international mobility programmes for students in the European Higher Education Area.

Belgrade is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a strong cultural heritage. The Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the National Library of Serbia and the National Theatre are among its most popular visitor destinations, alongside the city’s many museums, monuments, art galleries, parks and restaurants. 

Since the early 19th century, the university has played a significant role in the development of Belgrade and many of its buildings have heritage status. In 1941, the university was forced to close when the country came under occupation by German forces. At the end of the war, it re-opened and gradually expanded its number of faculties

The university’s alumni includes a number of Serbian presidents.

The Psychology and Child & Human Development (PCHD) Department is dedicated to developing evidence-based competencies in psychologists, counsellors, educators, and education specialists. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a veterinary degree and MRCVS for two part-time (0.5 FTE) Lecturer posts, one to act as Student Engagement Lead, and one to act as Learning Resources Lead. Successful applicants will join a team of fellow professionals within the School of Veterinary Medicine committed to providing excellence in teaching for the benefit of a new generation of vets.  The roles will involve a range of responsibilities including: Delivery of high-quality, creative and evidence-based teaching activities, critically reviewing learning approaches, and implementing innovative assessment and pedagogical practices Creation and maintenance of engaging learning materials and digital teaching resources Coordination and quality assurance of teaching and student support provision while contributing to curriculum development and programme innovation Support of the School’s attendance monitoring processes through accurate record keeping, auditing of attendance data, and working closely with academic staff and students Engagement with pedagogical research and collaborative academic projects to ensure teaching practice remains current, relevant, and responsive to sector developments. SIT espouses an applied learning approach and offers degrees with a strong focus on science and technology. SIT is expanding its quantum-safe communications capabilities, building a team with deep technical expertise in quantum security and cryptographic systems. The Professional Officer in Quantum-Safe Communications & Cybersecurity will contribute to SIT’s mission as a Quantum Hub at Punggol Digital District, supporting the National Quantum-Safe Network (NQSN) and working closely with government agencies and industry partners. Focus areas include: Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) – algorithm design, implementation, and migration Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) – system integration, deployment, and network operations Hybrid PQC-QKD secure network architectures Crypto-agility and cryptographic inventory management Quantum-safe standards, testing, and certification (ETSI, ITU-T, NIST) Cybersecurity systems engineering for critical infrastructure Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver laboratory sessions and practice-based modules in Quantum-Safe Communications, Post-Quantum Cryptography, and related areas. Lead or co-lead applied research and industry collaboration projects on quantum-safe network deployment, PQC migration, and QKD system integration. Support companies in conducting cryptographic inventories to identify vulnerabilities and define migration roadmaps towards quantum-safe solutions (crypto-agility). Operate, maintain, and develop SIT’s quantum-safe network testbed infrastructure, including QKD hardware, key management systems (KMS), and hybrid PQC-QKD setups. Conduct hands-on testing, validation, and benchmarking of PQC algorithms and QKD systems against relevant standards (NIST FIPS 203/204/205, ETSI GS QKD, ITU-T). Secure and manage research grants to support applied research in quantum-safe communications and cybersecurity. Supervise and mentor students in applied research projects, Capstone Projects, and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Contribute to the development of CET/PET course content and learning resources in quantum-safe communications and cybersecurity. Engage with Singapore’s quantum ecosystem (NQO, IMDA, CSA, NQSN) and industry partners on standards, interoperability, and applied research. Job Requirements Essential PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Cybersecurity, Quantum Information, or a closely related field. Strong expertise in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), with demonstrated experience in algorithm design and/or implementation (e.g., ML-KEM/CRYSTALS-Kyber, ML-DSA/CRYSTALS-Dilithium, SLH-DSA/SPHINCS+, FALCON). Solid understanding of QKD principles, protocols, and systems (e.g., BB84, E91, CV-QKD), including system-level and operational knowledge. Understanding of classical cryptographic primitives and protocols (symmetric/asymmetric encryption, TLS, IPsec, PKI). Familiarity with quantum-safe standards and frameworks: NIST PQC (FIPS 203/204/205), ETSI GS QKD, ITU-T X.1702, ISO/IEC. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java; familiarity with cryptographic libraries (liboqs, OpenSSL PQC, BouncyCastle). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on experimental skills. Experience Industry experience is strongly preferred — candidates from cybersecurity firms, telecom operators, quantum companies, government agencies, or applied R&D labs are particularly encouraged to apply. Postdoctoral researchers with strong industry collaboration components (e.g., industry-funded projects, testbed deployments, or technology transfer) will also be considered. Fresh PhD graduates with strong applied research outcomes (deployments, industry pilots, standards contributions) may be considered. Preferred / Advantageous Experience with crypto-agility frameworks and cryptographic inventory management — supporting organisations in identifying cryptographic weaknesses and planning PQC migration. Hands-on experience with QKD network deployment, key management systems (KMS), and hybrid PQC-QKD integration.
