The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science is seeking a professional and well organised Executive Support Officer to provide vital support to the School Director and act as the focal point and public face of a busy academic department. This is a key position that ensures the effective running of a busy school which spans a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, forensic psychology, health psychology and cognitive neuroscience. The role requires someone who can work with accuracy, discretion and confidence, offering high quality executive support in a fast-paced university environment. This is a full time position which would suit an excellent communicator who is proactive, calm under pressure and confident managing varied and sometimes competing priorities. Your personal sphere of play: The Centre for Teacher Education at the University of Vienna is home to the Austrian Educational Competence Centre Biology (AECC Biology). The centre conducts scientific research in the field of teaching and learning of Biology. Through innovative, practice-oriented national and international research, teaching and development projects we contribute to the advancement of biology education in schools and other educational institutions. We aim to use the results of our research to derive evidence-based recommendations for school practice, education policy, and the initial and continuing professional development of biology teachers. The current research foci of our team are education for sustainable development (ESD), environmental education, climate change education and biodiversity education, as well as scientific inquiry, particularly experimental skills and understanding the nature of science (NOS). At AECC Biology, you can expect to work with a team of highly engaged researchers. We offer innovative state-of-the-art research projects and interdisciplinary collaborations. Your future tasks: Your primary area of responsibility is the further establishment and management of the research at the AECC Biology. The tasks include research support, funding acquisition, engagement in third-mission, administrative and organizational activities, as well as the management of the two research facilities Teaching-and-Learning-Laboratory and Bee.Ed. You build up an independent research profile You are involved in current and future research projects and scientific studies in the area of the AECC Biology You publish internationally and give lectures You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement  You support the supervision of early career scientists (pre-doc) of the AECC Biology and supervise your students in writing master's and bachelor's theses You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance. You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
