The Department of Administrative Science and Administrative Law is a unit of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University which carries out educational and scientific research activities in both of the aforementioned fields, namely administrative law and, traditionally, administrative science. In terms of teaching, it primarily delivers compulsory modules covering the full scope of administrative law – that is, its general and specific parts – particularly within the Master’s programme in Law and Legal Science, the follow-up Master’s programme in Public Administration, and also within the Bachelor’s programmes, as well as a range of compulsory elective subjects focusing on specific areas or topics falling within the scope of administrative law in both the national and European contexts, and also in the field of administrative science. Your duties will include: delivering lectures, seminars and practical sessions at the department (particularly the general and specific parts of the curriculum, administrative procedural law, and selected topics from the field of administrative science), preparing study and teaching materials, including electronic materials, participating in research activities, including contributing to publications, contributing to the organisational management of research and teaching activities, including related administrative tasks contribution to the strategic management of the department We require: a completed Master’s degree from a law faculty, specialising in Law, Habilitation in accordance with the Higher Education Act, as amended, a genuine interest in administrative law and public administration, teaching focus on administrative law, teaching aptitude, or practical teaching experience, aptitude for independent academic and research work, the ability to teach and publish in Czech and English; knowledge of German is an advantage, the ability to actively participate in international conferences or specialist seminars and to establish cooperation with foreign partners good character, information regarding the employee’s other employment relationships within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended. The successful candidate will spearhead the development of novel oligonucleotide-based therapies targeting metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction in optic nerve diseases, such as glaucoma and inherited mitochondrial disorders. This position involves advancing candidate RNA therapeutic platforms and integrating them into the Optic Nerve Research Collaborative Australia (ORCA), a national initiative focused on breakthroughs in optic nerve disease research. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of innovation in RNA technology and experience in translating novel platforms into preclinical or clinical programs.
