The Najumudeen Lab is seeking a highly motivated Lab Manager / Research Technician to join our collaborative and international research team at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki. The lab is also affiliated with the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE). Our research focuses on intestinal stem cells, metabolism, cancer biology, and integrative multi-omics approaches, including spatial omics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, single-cell workflows, and preclinical cancer models. This position is ideal for a person who combines strong hands-on experience in mouse work with excellent organizational skills and enjoys keeping a research laboratory running smoothly. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting research projects, coordinating daily lab operations, and contributing intellectually to an active research environment.   Key responsibilities   The successful candidate will: 1.    Coordinate day-to-day lab operations, documentation, shared protocols, and general laboratory organization.  2.    Support research projects of lab members, with a strong drive to contribute intellectually. Tasks will include mouse genotyping, mouse management, mouse monitoring, and communication with mouse facility staff. The candidate is expected to understand the experimental design and the underlying reasons for performing each experiment.  3.    Assist with sample logistics for single-cell and multi-omics workflows.  4.    Maintain lab safety documentation, SOPs, equipment records, and onboarding materials for new lab members.  5.    Support administrative tasks for the group leader, including research meetings, purchasing, invoice processing, and financial documentation.  6.    Actively contribute to research discussions, including lab meetings, journal clubs, and project discussions.    Candidate requirements   •    MSc or PhD, preferably, in a relevant field, such as translational medicine, biomedicine, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline.  •    Extensive experience in experimental mouse work is required. Existing authorisation to work with mice is required; candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain the required authorisation in Finland. The SIT x NVIDIA AI Centre (SNAIC) is seeking a business-driven professional to lead industry partnerships and growth initiatives that expand the Centre’s commercial and strategic footprint. The role is responsible for identifying high-value collaboration opportunities, shaping business models for applied AI projects, and securing funding or co-development commitments that contribute to SNAIC’s long-term sustainability. Working at the intersection of technology and business, this role acts as SNAIC’s front-facing dealmaker, translating market demand, ecosystem signals, and AI innovation into viable partnerships across areas such as Generative AI, Large Language Models, Computer Vision, Digital Twins, and Multimodal AI. Success in this role requires strong commercial instincts, the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders, and the discipline to drive opportunities from early exploration through signed agreements and delivery. Key Responsibilities  1. Industry Engagement & Business Development Identify, qualify, and engage potential industry, government, and ecosystem partners for applied AI collaboration opportunities. Drive the deal process from initial discussion through to agreement. Manage active partnership accounts and track delivery milestones to ensure commitments, timelines, and outputs are met. 2. Marketing, Outreach & Positioning Contribute to industry events, workshops, showcases, and demos that strengthen SNAIC’s visibility and lead generation. Support development of partnership assets such as case studies, pitch decks, project proposals, and success stories. Work with internal teams to amplify SNAIC’s applied AI capabilities to targeted sectors and communities. 3. Data, Reporting & Pipeline Management Maintain an up-to-date CRM pipeline of leads, partners, proposals, and project statuses. Generate periodic dashboards and management reports on engagement performance, deal progress, and partnership outcomes. Ensure data accuracy and traceability across all stages of the partnership lifecycle. Job Requirement  Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data/AI, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, innovation projects, or roles involving both technical and commercial stakeholders. Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ideally in a cross-functional environment. Working understanding of AI concepts, use cases, and industry trends, with interest in areas such as Generative AI, LLMs, Computer Vision, or Digital Twins. Exposure to NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem (e.g., Omniverse, CUDA, DGX, NGC) is a plus, but not required. Strong communication and relationship management skills, able to engage industry partners and internal stakeholders confidently. Good writing and presentation abilities for proposals, pitch decks, and briefing materials. Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple partnership pipelines, timelines, and reporting needs. Comfortable using CRM tools, dashboards, or project tracking systems. Key Competencies Understanding of AI and emerging technologies. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to liaise confidently with both engineers and executives. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with strong skills and relevant experience for a postdoctoral research fellowship on the EPSRC-funded EXPRESS Programme Grant, ’Exploiting Single Source Precursors for the Electrochemical Growth of Functional 1D and 2D Metal Dichalcogenide Semiconductors’. EXPRESS is a flagship, interdisciplinary 5-year research programme led jointly by the Universities of Southampton and Warwick, bringing together internationally leading teams from across chemistry, physics and electronic engineering.  The Programme aims to deliver a step-change in the understanding and control of electrochemical growth of functional TMDC semiconductors, combining precursor design and synthesis, electrochemistry, theory, advanced characterisation and device integration. In addition to the essential disciplinary research skills, candidates should demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for collaborative working, the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, and well-developed organisational skills. This position is primarily concerned with the electrodeposition of transition metal dichalcogenides. The successful candidate will work within the electrochemistry team led by Phil Bartlett in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton, and will be required to be flexible and interact effectively with colleagues across the wider EXPRESS consortium to fulfil the scientific goals of the Programme.  The position is offered for until 05/07/2028 in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 further years.
