The Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas is located in Bogota, Colombia. It was established in 1948. It was renamed in 1957 to the name it still has today.

There are six campuses in total, located around Bogota city. Each campus has a particular academic focus.

The first programme to be taught at the university was radiotechnology. This has since expanded over the years and there are now eight departments at the university including science and education, engineering and art among others. Within these faculties students can choose from a range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including maths, journalism, Spanish, children's education and many others.

There are a range of laboratories such as the science laboratory and the engineering laboratory where students can conduct experiments and further supplement their learning.

There are also a number of libraries across the campuses, some of which focus on a particular academic discipline such as the engineering and the technological libraries.

For students interested in sport there are a range of teams and clubs that they can get involved with including football, climbing, gym, karate, tennis, table tennis and volleyball.
