The Department of Administrative Science and Administrative Law is a unit of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University which carries out educational and scientific research activities in both of the aforementioned fields, namely administrative law and, traditionally, administrative science. In terms of teaching, it primarily delivers compulsory modules covering the full scope of administrative law – that is, its general and specific parts – particularly within the Master’s programme in Law and Legal Science, the follow-up Master’s programme in Public Administration, and also within the Bachelor’s programmes, as well as a range of compulsory elective subjects focusing on specific areas or topics falling within the scope of administrative law in both the national and European contexts, and also in the field of administrative science. Your duties will include: contributing to the teaching of courses delivered at the department (in particular the general and specific parts, administrative procedural law, and selected topics from the field of administrative science), preparing study and teaching materials, including electronic materials, participation in research activities, including contributions to publications, contributing to the organisational aspects of research and teaching activities, including related administrative tasks. We require: a completed Master’s degree from a law faculty, specialising in Law, a genuine interest in administrative law and public administration, a teaching focus on administrative law, teaching aptitude, or practical teaching experience, the ability to conduct independent academic and research work, ability to teach and publish in Czech and English; knowledge of German an advantage, good character, information regarding the employee’s other employment relationships within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended. About the Role We are seeking an outstanding academic to join our Department of Psychological Sciences as a Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), or Associate Professor (Level D) to contribute and provide academic and professional leadership across Swinburne’s psychology programs, with a particular focus on advancing high-quality teaching, professional training, and research within the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology) and other postgraduate psychology courses. In this role, you will contribute to or lead excellence in teaching through evidence-based pedagogy; curriculum innovation; clinical supervision; and the ongoing development and delivery of the Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental Psychology). You will contribute to internal and external accreditation processes and support staff capability building, promote high-quality and consistent learning experiences for students, and contribute to Departmental and School initiatives and strategic priorities. As a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor, you will also be expected to contribute to and/or lead an innovative and impactful research program. This will include producing high-quality scholarly outputs, supervising HDR students and developing and managing industry partnerships that strengthen the Department’s and School’s research profile. About the area The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) is a joint venture between Curtin University and The University of Western Australia (UWA), established in 2009 and funded through 2030 with $65 million from the WA State Government. ICRAR is a leading institution in radio astronomy and a key Australian contributor to the global SKA project. The Astrophotonics Group within ICRAR develops advanced photonic systems for radio and optical astronomy, with a focus on long-distance transfer of stabilised frequency and timing signals via optical fibre and free-space laser links. About the opportunity Lead a small research team in the area of free-space optical communication, specifically optimised for operations within maritime environments. Coordinating this work with project partner organisations including industry, government, and defence. Conduct technical work across a combination of optomechanics, communications engineering, software development, and atmospheric physics. About you Tertiary qualification in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related field. Experience in one or more of the following: free-space optical engineering; optical communications systems and photonic technologies; mechanical engineering and fabrication; software, programming, simulation, and algorithm development (Python or MATLAB); and optical propagation through the atmosphere, particularly in maritime environments Experience with high-quality supervision of junior staff and HDR students. Project management experience and organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.
