About University of Tyumen

Known for its rapid development, the University of Tyumen is one of the largest institutions in Russia. With six campuses located in the old Syberian city of Tyumen there are 170+ programmes to choose from. Also, the institution has accreditation from Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

One big focus at the University of Tyumen is for students to improve their knowledge of the Russian oil and gas industry. This area of expertise is well-known at the institution and internships are encouraged.

International students are at the core of this institution with summer schools available, as well as the chance to enrol in the Russian language preparatory programme. International students are also guaranteed accommodation located in the historical centre of the city which is only a few minutes away from the university.

Students are able to take part in study abroad programmes during their studies, with the possibility of financial support towards this. For students staying on campus, they have access to a rapidly growing library and sports facilities.

Aside from its main teaching, University of Tyumen delivers extra programmes for all students around theoretical studies, cultural programmes and the chance to attend workshops with industry experts. They also have sports teams that play both in competitions and for leisure.

University of Tyumen alumni include Galina Kukleva who was a Russian biathlete, Olympic champion and three times world champion. Similarly, Alexander Petrushin graduated from the university and went on to become a Tyumen historian and ethnographer. He continues to educate students and share his passion.
