Basic information and contact details for the University of Hai'l

institution

The University of Hail dates back to1998 when the Hail Community College was established. In 2006 the college was granted full university status and became the University of Hail.

As its name suggests, the university is located in Hail, a city in northwestern Saudi Arabia. The city is the capital of the Hail Province, one of Saudi Arabia’s 13 provinces. Hail sits between Mount Shammar to the north and Mount Salma to the south.

When the university first opened it had just five academic colleges. It has since expanded and is now organised into 15 colleges, which include the college of applied medical sciences, the college of business administration, the college of dentistry, and the college of public health. Within each college there are a number of departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.

Throughout the year the university carries out scientific research in four faculties: the faculty of engineering, faculty of sciences, faculty of arts and fine arts, and the faculty of Shariah law. Recent research projects have included climate and air quality monitoring and innovative design of the injection pump chemicals for seawater desalination of plants.

The Deanship of Student Affairs is responsible for overseeing all student extracurricular activities within the university. It was established to strengthen the relationship between the university and its students, as well as the local community.
