Software Engineering and Information Systems Master's programme will provide the student with up-to-date skills to have a successful career as a software and ICT expert or manager in a global company.
The graduates will acquire solid academic training to analyse, evaluate, develop, and design solutions related to artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, software business, human-technology interaction, and digitalisation.

Course details
The graduating students will have skills to lead multicultural teams, projects, and units as well as capabilities to maintain and update their knowledge in the rapidly developing field.
The Software Engineering study option offers professional software development approaches for novel innovative systems and services. Topics, such as software development, software engineering processes with human factors, software quality and security, and software platforms and ecosystems are covered.
The Information Systems study option builds on creating applications of software systems and ICT solutions for organisations to serve people. Topics covered are for example: digitalisation and innovation, co-creation and business development, user experience (UX) design, societal impacts of information systems, and information systems strategy and leadership.
Entry requirements
Applicants for the Software Engineering and Information Systems Master’s Programme are selected on basis of their previous bachelor’s degree and studies, other necessary documents, and an interview.
The applicant also needs to meet the minimum requirements for English language skills of the University of Oulu.
