Course details

The Master in Economic Policy has a very international profile and focuses on policy-related scientific research. Through this Master’s programme you acquire economic insights to study societal themes (such as energy, transport, environment or healthcare,) and to make valid assumptions for both companies and families.

The two modules allow you to shape the programme according to your interests. With ‘Public Economics Policy’, you will focus on public policies in, for example, labor, environment, health, inequality and education, emphasizing both efficiency and equity. The ‘Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets’ module focuses on monetary policy, public finance, financial regulation, and financial economics.

Applicants should hold a university level Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Economic Policy or equivalent. This degree should be of an academic nature. When starting the Master’s programme, students should have a thorough command of intermediate micro- and macro-economics and introductory econometrics. Students who are still completing their Bachelor’s degree are also encouraged to apply.
You will also need to prove proficiency in English via a language certificate or proof that you studied your complete undergraduate studies in English. A GMAT or GRE is not required but can be requested in doubt.

“Studying Economic Policy is the best decision I made. The programme is unique and as an international student, you get a lot of support from the university. The work that is put into each student's personal development is amazing. Antwerpen is a beautiful city, right in the heart of Europe. Most people speak English, and they will always try to help and guide you. Even during the pandemic, I was able to make plenty of friends. I would 100% recommend studying here, I promise you will love it too!”
