Overview

The historian’s obligation is to sharpen our awareness of the mechanics of change and, so far as possible, to explain it. As a History major, you’ll study a broad range of courses, and be introduced to the important interactions between great nation-states, as well as to significant social themes, stretching across class, race, and gender. Your major in History will begin in your second year, following an exploratory general first-year program called Humanities I.
