In search of Livingstone

Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, might be a friend of the sector now, but this hasn't always been the case. Michael Driscoll, vice-chancellor of Middlesex University and chair of the London Higher regional group, told a conference in Manchester last week that it took months to get Mr Livingstone to consent to a meeting with his group.
