Win an iPad prize draw - terms and conditions

  1. The "Win an iPad" prize draw is open to all THE registered users who compare eight universities at between 00.00 GMT on 26th September and 23.59 GMT on 30th November 2018.

  2. You must be over 18 to enter the prize draw.
  3. Employees or agencies of Tes Global Ltd. (‘Tes’), its group companies and affiliates or their family members, or anyone else connected with the "Win an iPad" prize draw may not enter the prize draw.
  4. By submitting your personal information, you agree to receive emails from Times Higher Education containing offers and developments that we think may interest you. You will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe on every email that we send. Further details of how we store and process personal data can be found in our privacy policy:
  5. We will accept one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
  6. The closing date of the prize draw is 23.59 GMT on 30th November 2018. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
  7. One winner will be chosen from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  8. The winner will receive a new Apple iPad.
  9. Times Higher Education accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
  10. The winner will be notified by email.
  11. The winner must confirm their email address and supply their postal address, along with any delivery instructions, to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond to Times Higher Education within four days of being notified by Times Higher Education, or if the winner rejects their prize, or their entry is invalid or in breach of these terms and conditions, then they shall forfeit their prize and Times Higher Education shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.

  13. The decisions of the "Win an iPad" prize draw are final. The prize must be accepted as awarded.
  14. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for other prizes.
  15. Times Higher Education retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.
  16. The name, city and country of residence of the winner can be obtained after 30 November 2018 by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the following address: Times Higher Education, Product Management, 26 Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4HQ, England.

The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the "Win an iPad" prize draw and they shall participate in such activity on Times Higher Education’s reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by Times Higher Education and its related companies, both before and after the closing date of the "Win an iPad" prize draw for an unlimited time, of their voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by Times Higher Education and its related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and, in entering the "Win an iPad" prize draw, all entrants consent to the same.
  18. Entry to the "Win an iPad" prize draw is conditional on acceptance of these terms and conditions. By registering on the Times Higher Education website, you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms.

Times Higher Education shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at and in accordance with data protection legislation. By entering the "Win an iPad" prize draw, you agree to the collection, retention, usage and distribution of your personal information in order to process and contact you about your prize draw entry, and for the purposes outlined in paragraph 4 above.

Times Higher Education accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the "Win an iPad" prize draw or accepting the prize. Times Higher Education further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to you or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation in, or downloading any materials in connection with, the "Win an iPad" prize draw. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the liability of Times Higher Education for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.

Times Higher Education reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this prize draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Times Higher Education in all matters under its control is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  22. Times Higher Education shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
  23. The "Win an iPad" prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
