The Leverhulme Centre for Algorithmic Life is a major new interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to the study of how machine learning and AI algorithms are transforming societies. The Centre is supported by £10 million in funding from the , for ten years, awarded through its 2025 Research Centre competition. The Leverhulme Centre for Algorithmic Life seeks to appoint up to seven talented researchers and scholars to the role of Assistant Professor (Research) for a period of 36 months to work on one or more of our four thematic programmes. Description The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit several postdoctoral researchers interested in exploring the origins of human behavioral diversity, developing empirically-informed models of human behavior, and designing innovative institutions and policies for promoting social welfare. C-BID offers a vibrant and stimulating research environment, with opportunities to engage in high-impact projects and collaborations. Postdoctoral researchers join an active international community of scholars and fellow postdocs and benefit from a world-class seminar series. The Center also hosts numerous workshops, conferences, and other academic events that foster collaboration, idea exchange, and visibility, providing an exceptional platform for advancing researchers’ work and academic careers. The ideal candidate is highly ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and holds a PhD in economics or a related field. The position requires expertise in either experimental, empirical, or theoretical methods or, ideally, a combination of these methods. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Successful applicants are expected to publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals in social science or leading interdisciplinary journals, and work both individually and in close collaboration with the C-BID team: Olivier Bochet, Nikos Nikiforakis, and John Wooders. The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral research positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax. Appointments will be for two years, renewable for at least one additional year conditional on a satisfactory evaluation of performance. He/She should also have wide experience in Dental Technology, preferably with comprehensive skills in Prosthodontic, Orthodontic, and Digital Dental Technology (such as orthodontic appliances, virtual models, digital set-up, CAD/CAM and 3D printing technologies). Recent experience in teaching Dental Technology and a demonstrable interest in research and development in the field would be advantageous. The appointee will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, participate in patient care and technique development, and contribute to administrative duties.
