The Atılım University Department of Psychology was founded in the year 2004, and is the first Department of Psychology at the Foundation Schools of Ankara.

Our undergraduate degree program was accredited by FEDEK for a duration of 2 years.

The aim of the department is to raise individuals who are experienced in psychological research and practices and equipped with professional ethics and theoretical knowledge. Our department allows our students to take courses in line with their interests and career goals with our wide range of elective courses on the sub-fields of psychology.

This course aims at teaching historical background of psychology and basics of research methods in psychology and some fundamental concepts of psychology such as sensation, perception, learning, memory, etc.

The students who succeeded in this course;

• Learn the definition, working areas and subspecialties of psychology
• Learn major theoretical approaches in psychology such as psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive and humanistic
• Understand the broad spectrum of psychological research and thought
• Get to know the biological foundations of behavior
• Gain knowledge of topics such as sensation, perception, learning, memory, cognition, and language
